SOURCE: 1996 dodge avenger when cold, the transmission go in limp mode

Is the vehicle's Check Engine Light on? It should briefly light up when you turn the key on (before you start the engine) to show that the light is working correctly. Based on what I've read I believe you should have one or more trouble codes. A place like AutoZone will read the trouble codes for you for free, and you can look them up here - http://www.engine-light-help.com/generic-check-engine-light-codes.html

The shift down linkage on the carburetor below the gas pedal cable might need to be adjusted to increase the hydraulic pressure on the internal clutch plates in the transmission it shows you how to do that in a car manual.

Where is the camshaft sensor on 2005 Colorado Z71 5 cyl

The cam sensor (which this engine has two of ) wouldn't think that was the problem . Maybe the crankshaft position sensor ,possibly ! Your problem could be caused by a lot of thing's , coolant sensor going bad ,.
Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
The powertrain control module (PCM) controls all ignition system functions, and constantly corrects the spark timing. The PCM monitors information from various sensor inputs that include the following:
• The throttle position (TP) sensor
• The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor
• The mass air flow (MAF) sensor
• The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor
• The vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
• The transmission gear position or range information sensors
• The engine knock sensor (KS) Modes of Operation
During normal operation, the powertrain control module (PCM) controls all ignition functions. If either the crankshaft position (CKP) or the camshaft position (CMP) sensor signal is lost, the engine will continue to run because the PCM will default to a limp-home mode using the remaining sensor input. Each coil is internally protected against damage from excessive voltage. If one or more coils were to fail in this manner, a misfiring condition would result. DTCs are available to accurately diagnose the ignition system with a scan tool.
So before you start replacing parts that don't fix the problem , do yourself an take it to a qualified repair shop an have it diagnosed !

2005 s40 volvo tranny shifts from 2nd to 4th only manually

Sounds like it is in limp mode. Have the codes read. Different areas of the vehicle can cause this. Not just the transmission.

My car is stuck in limp in mode I have replaced speed sensor and I'm getting p 0700 it's a 02 stratus I was told if I have the codes reset that the car should shift correctly

Incorrect information the code is because of a system malfunction and that is what is causing the shift problem. Resetting the code does nothing. Your code is transmission control circuit malfunction.

Po715 automatic transmission most of the time it don't want to go to the other gears stays in first gear

This is cause by three things. 1. Low fluid causing difficult shifting. 2. Bad electronics in the 1,2, shift circuit. Or the transmission is in limp mode. The transmission can go into limp mode for several reasons. Try removing the gas cap, sometimes the evap system will cause issues. Also get the car to normal operating temperature and check the trans fluid, add as necessary, do not overfill.

2005 dodge stratus PO720, PO700, and U110c came up, BCM part of the last code ( fuel level) ?

Did you actually erase the codes after the first time?
Sounds like the speed sensor lost contact first, then the transmission went into limp home mode? So everything's fine now, contact was restored with the speed sensor. BCM is the body control module, kind of a nutty professor's idea to centralize a lot of body electrical wiring into a single control module, seems to cause more problems than it alleviates. Wouldn't be surprised if the speed sensor and the fuel level, like the rest of the dash cxluster is not all routed through the BCM. Well, it works now. When the problem re-occurs, you'll maybe be able to snuff it out. Bood luck.

My transmission will not shift outta third gear..it will go in reverse but will nt go into normal shifting

This is Dodge's limp mode. It means there is a problem with the transmission. Take it to a shop with a scan tool. They can plug in and clear the codes and find the problem.

Transmission locked up, felt like it was stuck in second or third gear. not shifting. shut engine off and restarted , shifting properly now. what causes this.

It was a temporary fault that put the car into limp mode (a safeguard operating condition designed to protect the transmission in case of serious failure). Sometimes a transient fault can occur, and the car goes into limp mode just to be sure it's not for real. Shutting off and restarting the car is the usual way to clear the fault and return the car to normal operation - if the problem was real, the car would've stayed in limp mode after restart, or gone into limp once you started driving again. I wouldn't sweat this one, since it went right back to normal operation.
