I have Isuzu Kb300, 2008 model. The following are the problems am facing: 1. The rev count only goes up 2 revs. 2. The speed only goes upto 100km/hr.

The engine light was on, but is now off? I would check for stored engine codes to hopefully get some idea as to what the heck was going on, as your confidence in taking a 200 mile trip is probably a bit shaky. Hi I an Vortash there are a few things that can cause this ... Air at the inlet manifold caused by a faulty gasket ?.... Air leak in the Brake servo causing loss of Inlet vacum ( this would be noticeable with the fact that brakes would be a little spongy but not always and sometimes the engine revs increase when you put the brakes on when staionary ) Faulty throttle cable ... faulty throttle sensor .. best way to find out is to have the car checked out on a Krypton tune machine ( or equvalent ) to determine the fault otherwise you could spend out on un nesscasary parts .. at least the machine would pinpoint it for you .. It is always adviseable if you do your own repairs to get hold of a Haynes manual for your vehicle it will tell you all the best ways of treating most of your cars problems cheaply and efficiently hope this helps Regards Vortash

If the check engine light comes on, YOU NEED the CODE. this will tell you what problem your engine has noticed and needs to be corrected. Without this, the list of problems could be a mile long......look in you owners manual and see if you can tell the car to give you the code...it can do this through Morse code with a designated blinking light

The geabox fluid needs changing, if the gear changes seem jerky changing up and down, the gearbox needs to be refurbished.

You have a bad air intake manifold gasket. If it runs idling high, take a can of brake cleaner and spray it on the air intake manifold by the firewall. Spray it right where the air intake bolts on. There are 8 10mm bolts or nuts there. When you spray it while idling, the revs will come down. This makes sure that is the problem before you go any farther. My 02 did the same thing.If you need to know how to change it, let me know, I can walk you through it. It's a one to two hour job, b ut easy

Sounds like one of two problems, it is not easy to diagnose a problem if you are not standing in front of the engine.

1. You might have a diesel pump issue, when it's cold there is enough pressure until it's warm then pressure drops as it expands. follow the fuel line to see if you have any leaks when it is warm or have the pump tested for pressure. sometimes you might also have a backfire noise due to fuel shortage but his might be very seldom or soft miss fire.

2. also check sensors for co and if you have a newer model, crank or cam sensor. they tend to stop working if they are warm, and if left for a while they start working again till it's warm again.

Revs seem higher than normal in my 2005 Suzuki Swift Sport (3.3rpm in 5th @ 100km/hr) - is this normal? I also have a really high fuel consumption rate


2 issues,
1: MPG, you failed to say MPG, 15mpg? or 39? is 39 low?
what MPG? you never said it?

2: rpm cruise. (what drive line, A/T M/T ?) what tranny?
first google hit , is this it? this yours?
engine: 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol, 75 kW/133 Nm
Transmissions: 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, FWD

3300 RPM in 5th and 100km
if you wish to now what is normal, find the final drive ratio, listed in the FSM. Id say this is normal. typical of tiny engines, with low torque.at lower RPMs.

if you have the A/T and IF the trannywere to slip, the TCM will infact throw DTC codes, telling you it did.
IS IT? (scan tools show you this fact as might that glowing CEL lamp on the dash, on driving.

RPM
my 1.6L spins 3000 RPM , at below tranny options valve counts.
54/59mph (104km/hr = 59) 5sp MT.
64.6 4sp A/T (goes fastest due to more aggressive OD + axle ratio is lower.)
56/.53 2sp A/T
see how drive line effects RPM? so will your cars options.

My AUDI A4 2002. it jerks on drive and the rev count rises a bit and back down when it does. this happens only at speed below 100km/h. and I got the following codes; 18183 P1775 Hydraulic Sporadic:...


I\'m only 4yrs into the Audi Family but I recall experiencing a very similar problem in my first year of my new 2010-S4.
My Problem:
My JERKING consistently occurred while I was coming to stops, applying my brakes, the transmission was dramatically downshifting.
Audi\'s Response:
Transmission needed to finish learning my driving style which should happen within the first 500 miles driven. I wasn\'t a fan of that solution and started to analyze the problem.

Kutty\'s Conclusion and Results:
Speed up the learning Session with my Triptronic Shifter - I would drive the heck out of my S4, not as an adiot risking damage to to the vehicle. But, I was on the thought process of not having restrictions and being VERY AGGRESSIVE - FORCING EXTREME UP&DOWN SHIFTS

Car won't get drive. Diagnostics say ok. Rev fall down to 2000rpm


It sounds like the torque converter has gone, the engine will still run ok but the car wont drive. best way to tell put the car in drive and take your foot of the brake if it creeps forward then thats most likely the fault.

Other possibility is the fluid the gearbox is to low or the system needs bleeding.
