What happens when you remove both switches, and wires? What happens when you use a jumper wire acros both wires, on both doors?

The door switch provides a ground to the dome light... so there is no danger to you if you want to attempt a removal of the switch. A rusted or shorted wire in the door switch (of any door) will keep the dome light on.

This seems that either of the door switches is/are faulty. Try pushing the switches fully on each plunger switch on each door individually, keeping the other doors closed while you do. See if one of them causes the light to go out. If you do find one turns the light off, it's an adjustment problem with the plunger switch. May still need to be replaced if it won't depress enough with the door closing to turn off.Let us know if you were looking for something more else please accept the suggestion.

SOURCE: Replaced ride height sensors and
I have repaired dozens of these air suspension problems and without a doubt the #1 cause is leaking air bags, which you make no mention of replacing, as far as the changes to the ride height programs go they are preset and not adjustable, nor do i recommend you try and alter the system by fooling around with the ride height sensors, any changes u may attempt to make can and will adversely affect handling. My experience? 35 years as a Ford dealer factory trained and certified master technician in all phases of this system.
