Question about BMW Cars & Trucks
Started car and 3-4 seconds died,I tried restarting but engine cranked faster than normal (sound like plugs were removed completely). I removed valve cover and saw camshafts were turning, lifters were also moving up/down,no broken timing chain. Some mechanics say lifters got stuck, camshaft sensors bad...etc. Kngine has dual vanos, and wondered if its solenoid went bad, skipped a tooth on the timing chain,no oil pressure supply to dual vanos....??.Need HELP!!!,please. Thnx, Alberto
Lots of guesswork here.
Firstly, have you checked for compression on all cylinders.
If compression is low or non exisistant then you have a major problem probably caused by the timing chain slipping and causing damage to the valves /pistons etc
I would do this first.
