I have a mitsubishi l300 with a 4G64 engine I have just replaced main bearings it ran ok but now it's blowing smoke. Compression is ok but all the plugs are dry black as if it's getting too much fuel

F]ENGINE Workshop Manual 4G6 (EW) - mmc@mitsubishi-motors.kiev.ua

mitsubishi-motors.kiev.ua/Manuals/Engine/pwee9616/11A.pdf

you have to run it in and wait and see
you may burn up a set of plugs

renew main bearings only raise the conrods and pistons
so piston and rings will run in a different position up the cylinder wall

only doing mains and not conrods and re-ring is a strange thing to do
