Where the ecm/pcm located on a chevy avalanche 2002

The pcm is just under the battery on the left side of the engine compartment. The PCM need to be calibrated to the truck and motor. If you just put it in the motor may not start. Read over the information I have attached before you do this. Ken Powertrain Control Module Replacement Service of the powertrain control module (PCM) should consist of either replacement of the PCM or electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) programming. If diagnostic procedures call for the PCM to be replaced, the replacement PCM should be checked to ensure that the correct part is being used. If the correct part is being used, remove the faulty PCM and install the new service PCM.
Important: To prevent internal PCM damage, the ignition must be OFF when disconnecting or reconnecting power to the PCM. For example, when working with a battery cable, PCM pigtail, PCM fuse, or jumper cables. • Remove any debris from the PCM connector surfaces before servicing the PCM. Inspect the PCM module connector gaskets when diagnosing or replacing the PCM. Ensure that the gaskets are installed correctly. The gaskets prevent contaminant intrusion into the PCM. • The replacement PCM must be programmed.

Removal Procedure

Important: It is necessary to record the remaining engine oil life. If the replacement module is not programed with the remaining engine oil life, the engine oil life will default to 100%. If the replacement module is not programmed with the remaining engine oil life, the engine oil will need to be changed at 5000 km (3,000 mi) from the last engine oil change.
  1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil. Record the remaining engine oil life.

Check injection and spanner symbol comes on?

A check engine light comes on when something is amiss with your car.

This can be either warning of a sensor failure or a service is due. There's many sensors on a car ..

If you have a handbook check what is says about the symbols.

Get somebody to do a diagnostic check using an OBD - the handheld diagnostic machine. Any error codes detected will tell you what the problem is.

Many auto-spares shops will do a free diagnostic check for you. You buy the replacement parts from them ..

The fact that an injection warning light has come on is suggesting there's a problem somewhere with the fuel/injection system. The spanner light is probably just saying 'attention required' ...

It's far easier to get an OBD diagnostic check done/ second opinion to identify the fault than it is to buy replacement parts in the hope of fixing the problem. Identify the problem first.

What's your question?airbag faulty

You should contact a dealer for several reasons:

1. The unit might be in a recall. They would have to replace it free.

2. Air bags are an explosive and should be replaced by someone that knows the ins and outs.

3. You want to make sure that it is done correctly. You life depends on it.

It could be a bad sensor and that would not be covered. Some of the units fail when the welds or connections in the device break. Call the dealer and have the VIN number ready.

Need to replace struts, just want to know how complicated it is

very, you are going to need a repair shop with correct tools, and most likely an alignment rack. if the struts are bad, most likely other suspension components have reached the end of their life as well. some shops will take a free look at it and give you a list of what all is needed and an estimate for parts and labor

Loosen the PCM harness connector bolts (4) from the center of the PCM harness connectors.
Notice: In order to prevent internal damage to the PCM, the ignition must be OFF when disconnecting or reconnecting the PCM connector.
Remove the PCM harness connectors (2) from the PCM (1).
Remove the PCM retaining bolts (3) and nuts (6).
Notice: Do not touch the connector pins or soldered components on the circuit board in order to prevent possible electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to the PCM.
Slide the PCM (1) away from the intake manifold past the mounting studs (5) and remove PCM from the vehicle.
Remove the PCM mounting studs (5) from the intake manifold ONLY if replacing the studs.

It is possible that the pcm made need to reflashed after replacement.

I can almost guarantee somebody has installed your bulbs the wrong way round I've seen this before many times, of course we're talking about Main beam headlight bulbs, I speak as a Renault technician.
I suggest you take it to the main dealer, I hope I have been helpful.

Suspension is really loose, ride is sloppy like it bounces up an down when going over bumps in the road. Is this the shocks? It is a 1998 olds brvada.

Yes it's the shocks. They have an average life of 80,000 miles so replace them with life time replacement at Parts Source and don't buy the cheap ones, they don't work well and since there life time replacement parts. Spend a little more for the good ones, just keep the receipt in the glove box in your manuel. Good luck and hope this helps. you can change the shocks your self with common tolls.
