SOURCE: gear shift knob

Usually there is a small metal clip at the bottom front of the shift knob (looks like a staple.) Just pull it out and pull the knob straight up.

SOURCE: my estima has gear shifting problem.

Hello Riaz, did your check engine light come on? If so it would be very helpful to know what the codes are for my diagnosis.
Your cars problem could be one of two things at this time, codes will tell more. Your car is having a problem with a shift soleniod, or a problem with a stuck valve body.
Try this first, it won't hurt anything, go to your local auto parts store and buy a quart of LUCAS transmission treatment. Put about 1 pint into your transmission, this stuff will dissolve and lubricate the inside workings, and as I mentioned will not hurt anything and at this time will be the least expensive route.
If you get back to me with codes I may be able to help you further.
GOOD LUCK.

Sounds like you need oil in your transmission, low pressure light for hydraulics. Get it checked right away or it could seize up.
Make sure all your fluids are checked both for levels and leaks.
Your brakes may need looking at too.

2004 mazda 3 transmission problem

Check transmission fluid. If that is full, try changing the fuel filter. It could be starving for gas, and trying to shift but can't. It could also be the speed sensor, or shift solenoid.

Gear lever stuck on '96 Toyota Lucida Estima

Automati Estimas have a safety device that locks the gear lever in 'park' until the brake pedal is pressed. Turn on the ignition and check that the brake lights are working, as the lock works on the same circuit. There may be a problem with the wiring to the lock mechanism
