My 2007 Chevy Cobalt will not crank, and will not start. I try to start it and absolutely nothing happens. What is this, and how do I fix it?

check for fuel pressure or listen for fuel pump operation in fuel tank when you turn ignition switch to on position for ten seconds. if no could have faulty fuel pump fuse or relay pump could have failed.if yes hear fuel pump running could have plugged fuel filter. if fuel system okay problem could be ignition system.have vechicle code scan look for fault codes.could have faulty ignition module faulty camshaft sensor or crankshaft position sensor.faulty PCM.

I have a 1988 Chevy K 2500 4x4 with 5.7 liter V-8 I recently changed the fuel filter as it would run great on the highway at spreeds above 40 MPH and it did nothing. Now it surges real bad when ideling and...

Just turn the key on, but don't start and listen to the fuel pump in the fuel tank--it should run for a short period, then turn off. If it continues to run, the pump is likely in need of replacement or you have a pressure leak somewhere. Good luck!

My truck did this after I replaced the fuel pump. Turned out to Fuel Pressure Regulator. It would crank and crank but never start. It's located underneath the black plastic manifold on the side of the injectors.

Going 70 miles per hr on highway just died. the only prior problem before was that the day before it was acting like it ran out of gas then it was fine

sounds like the fuel pump has gone out on it. To test your fuel pump have someone turn the key on, but do not start, and listen for a humming sound by the gas tank. It will only last a second or two. If you hear nothing then your pump is bad and will require removing the gas tank. If you do hear it try replacing the fuel filter and see if that helps.

Will not start, do not smell any gas

i had a 2000 chevy venture wbe. i had to replace the in-tank electric fuel pump at 107,000 miles. open the fuel door, remove the gas cap and have someone listen closoly. try to start and if you hear a HUMMING sound once the key is turned, then fuel pump is working. if no hum, the fuel pump is bad. upon start-up it kicks in 2-3 seconds to build up fuel pressure...

1998 chevy K1500 timing runs ok for 10 miles then loses all pwr

1-timing on truck is ajusted by ecm, when u moved it u cause cam sensor code because it detected timing was off! 2-o2 sensors has the role of detecting air to fuel ratio coming out of exhaust, sends signal to ecm wich collects data from other sensors from that sets timing for best performance,if ecm detects something wrong in system data it will give engine code, that code will point at problem area,in your case o2 sensors probably detected lean fuel ratio that points to fuel system, blocked fuel filter or fuel pump faillure, elect, circuit damage, hope it helped!

Car will not start.

Could be a fuel pump, the gauge could be telling you something different. Sometimes they give misreadings. When was the last time you got gas? Have you tried adding some and then starting it?
