SOURCE: when it gets hot outside,

You may have computer sensor problems. Humidity and temperature of air affect fuel regulation controls in moden engines. Cool morning to hot afternoon and system still thinking it is cool thus engine has very poor performance. This vehicle has what is called a driveability issue and is ususally a bear to figure out without the proper scanning equipment.

SOURCE: if i stop or let

Mine did that to me about 4 months ago. I started by changing the fuel filter it ran great for a month. but by doing that it released all the pressure off of the fuel pump which then went out. If you run your vehicle below 1/4 tank it starves the fuel pump. The pump needs that fuel because; The fuel is the lubrication for the pump. Running your tank down consistently over a period of time will short the pump out faster.

SOURCE: 2000 Blazer 4.3 no fuel

Did the new pump come with an upgraded wiring harness? GM had problems with the connector that plugs into the pump assembly on top of the tank. The better brands of pumps come with this upgraded wiring. You might want to check into that.

SOURCE: when i've been driving for

Change the fuel filter. It is usually located passenger side along the frame rail ahead of the rear tire. You're right, it's starving for gas & because of this your fuel line is heating up & causing vapor lock. This is why your car won't start when hot. Good luck!

First check the fuel flow and pressure. the flow is most likely the fault , can be caused by a partly blocked filter , a worn fuel pump ,or faulty relief valve on the fuel rail.

Sounds like the fuel pump is going bad(or in this case, has gone bad). I suggest that you change the fuel pump and use a fuel cleaner in your gas tank as dirty gas may have caused the problem to begin with.

A 460 engine that acts like its not getting enough fuel. Will start but runs as if only on half the cylinders missing badly or such.

Check your running fuel pump pressure. If (as I suspect) it's too low, first try changing your fuel filter. After changing the filter, recheck the running fuel pump pressure. If still low, check you fuel pump pressure regulator. If OK, you may need a new fuel pump.

Also probably would be a good idea to replace you air filter.

Good luck!

Starving for fuel?

have you checked your fuel pressure regulator, I had the same problem and this is one that cost me about $60-$80 to fix, the fuel pressure regulator right on top of the engine that stupid round little piece if it clogs you starve your engine and it sips fuel a little bit, just enough for it to start, then it shuts off..so try replacing the the fuel pressure regulator.. that's where i would start there are more things then this that cause your car and engine to starve itself of fuel. let me know if this works, if not we'll approach it small problems at a time.
