Hood latch broken on Lexus RX330

It's not the cable if you can open the hood from inside. The mechanical safety latch is broken. If you can find one in a junkyard, get it, otherwise, it's off to the dealer to order it which will be more expensive than the junkyard version.

My 1991 acura integra will not make any noises when turning the ignition and no lights turn on and the doors and windows and seatbelts are power and none of them work. checked the battery but its good and...

You need to check all of your fuses both in the car and underneath the engine.

Make sure the ignition fuse is not broken and that none are missing.

The fuse box is underneath the steering column against the wall. The fuse bracket will show you which fuse does what.

Inside the car it is mounted onto the frame above where the wheel is.

Pop open the box and check them all.

Drivers side door will not unlock with key or with inside rod.

a spring on the door latch has broken,if you cant pull the lock button up with your fingers then this is what for sure got to pull door panel off with the door closed, why?because there aint no other way to open it.take off window crank and the screw in the door pull cup there might be one in the upper front corner to. there are some that are in the door jam but you cant get those.just start pulling at one edge untill you get it off.i havent broken any yet so you might be lucky also.once off look for the broken sring ussually one piece will still be hanging from latch.find were the other end went and move the lever towards the the anchor hole. unlock and open door.remove latch from door and go to hardware store and get another spring or buy new latch from kia

use a long flat tip screw driver and a small hammer. have someone pull up on the hood after you pop it from the inside, then while they are holding the hood up use the screw driver and shove the hook that is above the latch bar. when you hit it you will be hitting it to the right

2003 Ford Explorer back door latch will not open

Mine just did the exact same thing. The latch may be moving freely because it is not hooked to the latching mechanism anymore. In my case, the handle had broken where the handle hooks to the rod that operates the mechanism. Go to the Ford dealer and buy a new handle. Here in S.C. it was $24. You can't get this at the parts houses. Start by removing the plastic "Ford" cover that is over the liscense plate lights. You then have to remove the aluminum rivets that hold the handle to the tailgate from the outside and remove the broken latch. Remove the pull handle loop on the interior side of the tailgate (2 screws), unsnap the inside plastic tailgate interior panel, and pull down the black plastic sheeting that is underneath the panel to make access to the mechanism inside of the tailgate. There is also a hard plastic cover that you will see that needs to be pulled loose to open another access hole. Install the new tailgate latch handle by sliding back into the mounting holes and attach with two 10-32 screws and nuts. The new handle will come with a new yellow rod attachment piece on the handle. You will see inside of the tailgate a small rod hanging down, most likeky it will have the same rod attachment piece as the one on the new handle. Note the position of the yellow piece on the rod, as you will connect the new piece in the same place. Once the rod is hooked up, relubricate the metal mechanism with a light machine oil, replace the black plastic cover, replace the black plastic sheeting, (secure with a small amount of duct tape), replace the tailgate interior panel, replace the pull handle loop, shut tailgate, replace "Ford" cover over lights, and you're done!

2002 Mercury Marquis Heat only comes out vents

There could be a thermal switch for blower speeds and temp. Since you needed to replace the battery, the thermal switch could have run down the battery. When you restored a dead battery with a fully charged battery a resistor blew. There is a cover underneath the glove box that can be removed and the glovebox lid can easily be unclipped to hang out of the way. Just look at the sides of the glovebox and you will see brackets which can be pinched to let the lid hang down. Unplug the switch and look for melted parts.
