Question about Ford Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Does anyone know how to fix this problem ? Ford recalls 2013 Escape for 11th time, this time for wiring problem .

My friend has this car & it keeps on quitting just out of the blues even while driving down the road. Some say it's a compression problem in the wiring, does anyone know where it might be ?

Check for loose /broken wires to the crank sensor and cam sensor
it the insulation is not perfect or the connections are loose or corroded , the intermittent failure reports to the ECM that the piston position or cam operation is not known so the ECM immediately turns the power off to protect the engine
when the engine is stationary , connection is again made and so it restarts
regular fault with saturn vehicles where the wires are near the engine mounts

Having a recall is part of owning a car. Eventually no matter what you buy you will have a recall in your life time. If you feel that unsafe then have it towed in for the recall to be fixed.

Repair ion 2007 temps gage stop and air cool not work

Lady friend has a 2006 escape hybrid; she just had problem of overheat; same as I had with my 2007; she went to Ford Dealer; they said it was a recall issue; fixed it for free. I paid a "Christian Brothers"
garage to fix mine; had no idea about a recall; (and bought mine from a Ford Dealer;!) but was not near a Ford Dealer at the time; both problems were the same and related to the hybrid system.

Desicant drier

Can anyone point me to the actual service bulletin. My 2012 Escape did this (2000.00) My daughter's 2010 as well (4000.)
She took hers to a dealer while warranty was still good and they bled the AC (which we now realize pulled the dessicant back long enough to have it work poorly until the warranty expired.) 26 year olds don't have 4000. to fix the AC.

Luggage compartment lid open on 2013 Ford Escape

I would take it to the dealer and have them check the latch. It may need to be adjusted.
Should still be under warranty.

2001 Escape: airbag light comes on,blinks, and then is a solid light. Is this probably a costly repair to fix?

This happens with my '01 Escape all the time. After extensive research on this I discovered Ford installed some really horrible wiring clips under the Driver's and Passenger's seats. Fixing the problem is just a matter of getting under your seat and disconnecting and reconnecting those little wiring clips. Mine are bright yellow and the only wiring under either seats. I heard a couple of guys got fed up with the problem and replaced the wiring on these, but I find it easier to just fiddle with them whenever the airbag light illuminates.
Ford did acknowledge this issue and didn't issue a recall because the airbags will supposedly still deploy in the event of a collision. I don't recall where I read this but I felt relieved by it :). If this issue really bothers you go get it diagnosed, the diagnosis wont be pricey, the fix might be though! Good luck.

2002 Ford Escape, 2WD V6

Check to see if you have had your car serviced for the ABS recall. You will want to do this timely as it is a fire hazard.
