Do you know if the lean is worse on the front, or on the rear? Sounds like a bad or broken spring or maybe a bent or broken shock.

No broken spring just changed all the shocks the lean is worse in the front

  • solver2010 Apr 22, 2017

Just changed all the shocks? Who changed them? You? Does your vehicle have struts (with springs) in the front?

  • Jerry Keller
    Jerry Keller Apr 22, 2017

Yes I change them it does have struts with springs in the front it sounds like I might have bad ball joints I don't know if that makes a difference with the lean

  • solver2010 Apr 22, 2017

Did it ever sit straight after you changed the front struts? Or did you not notice?

  • Jerry Keller
    Jerry Keller Apr 22, 2017

No it didn't fix the lean and it seems to be getting worse

  • solver2010 Apr 22, 2017

Is it possible that you did not get the upper mounts back together correctly, and/or tight enough?

I had two mechanics helping me everything was triple checked

Everyone that I've talked to told me that it can't be fixed to deal with it but I know there has to be a way to fix it because I know it didn't come off the lot that way

  • solver2010 Apr 22, 2017

Are you sure that the struts were BOTH made for your vehicle? Did you compare spring heights by measuring them and comparing, before installing them?

  • Jerry Keller

    Yes sir I sure did

I'm sorry I was thinking about my Chevrolet my GMC doesn't have struts it has a shock and a coil spring

  • solver2010 Apr 22, 2017

What DID you do to your GMC, IF that is the vehicle showing the leaning problem? Change both the springs and the shocks? To change the springs on that, didn't you have to drop the lower control arm down from the lower ball joint on each side?

SOURCE: no power to trailer running lights

Hi,

This is a known issue and to my knowledge there was even a recall order to correct this fault. It would seem the the wiring harness itself is the reason. You may want to reference these pages here and/or here.

Should you however prefer to perform a DIY, then you would need a DVM to check for voltages. This page shows the possible wiring scheme used by most manufacturers for trailer configuration.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: How to replace side mirror on 1996 GMC Sierra?

See Figure 2
0900c1528008f812.jpgFig. 2: Outside mirror-below eyeline type

  1. Remove the mirror cover screw and lift the cover and pivot the mirror towards the window.
  2. Remove the mirror to door bolts and remove the mirror and seal from the door.
  3. To install, position the mirror and seal to the door and install the retaining bolts.
  4. Pivot the mirror away from the window, and lower the mirror cover.
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Hope this helps .. if not feel free to contact me

SOURCE: I have a 1997 GMC Sierra.

Align the truck, sound like the camber is out of adjustment the upper control arm is holding it out too much, or your lower ball joint is messed up and lets it tuck in. The tie rods on that truck have nothing to do with it. Ball joints are like 40 bucks each for a good one, and an alignment is like 50. Is this a 4wd truck? If you have torsion bars make sure they are not too tight, when you hit dips its gonna distort the tire to the ground.

If you are lean on the left side that rules out a spark issue so you either have a injector cutting out or a vacuum leak on that side.

Air conditioning

Need to have your HVAC system scanned to determine what has failed in that system. Possible blend door for drivers side or maybe the system just needs recalibrated.
