D4 is a transmission problem. It wouldn't cause the car not to start. If you don't hear the pump coming on when the key is turned on, Most likely the pump died. Could be the fuse or wiring also. Check grounds. Both could be a bad ground.
The check engine light comes on if there is an issue.But Honda also has preset the Check engine light to come on to remind you of oil changes.If you want to shut the Check engine light off.There is a Yellow Reset Button inside the Fuse panel.
