Where do you check the transmission level on a 1995 Polaris 425 Magnum. How do you add fluid?

on any vehicle with an automatic transmission, there are two dip sticks. One to measure oil level, and the other transmission fluid level( typically labled 'check with engine running in park'). To add transmission fluid requires a funnel to introduce fluid via the dip-stick tube.

If you have a manual transmission, then you don't need transmission fluid, you need gear oil, which can be measured at the transmission and added at the same port.

Where do u put transmission fluid in

Remove the transmission dip stick and add the fluid to the transmission through the dip stick tube. You can purchase a funnel to help pour the fluid in. Add in small amounts, run the vehicle, shift through the gears and check level with engine and transmission warmed up. Be careful not to overfill. Hope this helps

How much tranamission fluid does my 1997 sable hold

If you have your owners manual, there is a section containing the capacities for all fluids. You may also simply check your fluid level, with a running motor and warm transmission. If the stick indicates add, start with a 1/4 quart and work your way up. Unless there is a problem with the trans, there is no real reason to ever add fluid unless your are flushing the transmission.

My tranny slips some times but it will catch after a few min

SOUND LIKE TRANSMISSION FLUID LOW OR YOU NEED A TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE.THE 4T40E OR 4T45E IF YOU DONT SEE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK.BEST TO DO A FILTER AND FLUID CHANGE.YOU NEED 7 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID A NEW TRANSMISSION FILTER AND PAN GASKET.I WOULD BUY FILTER AND PAN GASKET AT DEALERSHIP.YOU NEED A LARGE DRAIN PAN TO CATCH TRANSMISSION FLUID.IF YOU HAVE A TRANSMISSION DIP STICK. BEFORE YOU FIRST BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL ON DIP STICK.SHOULD BE ON THE FULL MARK.IF NOT ADD FLUID TO FULL MARK.THEN CRANK VECHICLE LET IDLE UNTIL ENGINE HOT OPERATION TEMPERATURE ABOUT 10 MINUTES.THEN APPLY BRAKE PEDAL.THEN SLOWLY SHIFT TRANSMISSION SHIFTER THROUGH ALL GEARS 2 TIMES.THEN PUT TRANSMISSION IN PARK.CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL.IF NOT AT FULL MARK ADD TRANSMISSION FLUID UNTIL LEVEL CORRECT.

No drive on a 1999 olds alero

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID SOUND LIKE VECHICLE SLIPPING DUE TO LACK OF FLUID. CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID ON DIP STICK. WHILE ENGINE COLD FLUID LEVEL ON DIP STICK SHOULD FULL MARK.CRANK ENGINE LET VECHICLE IDLE TO WARM.THEN HOLD FOOT ON BRAKE SHIFT THROUGH ALL GEARS FEW TIMES CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL IF LOW ADD FLUID UNTIL YOU GET TO FULL MARK.IF YOU HAVE THE TRANSMISSION WITH NO DIP STICK.YOU NEED TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID + FILTER. YOU NEED 7 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID.BUY DEALERSHIP TRANSMISSION PAN GASKET ITS THICKER MADE DIFFERENT WONT LEAK FLUID. THE TRANSMISSION GASKETS AT AUTO PARTS STORES TOO THIN LEAK FLUID BAD.

How to check transmission fluid and fill if nessesary.

if it is an automatic transmission, the dip stick is under the hood and should be on the drivers side of the engine, start the car leave it in park, pull the dip stick out and wipe it off with a cloth, reinstall the dip stick in the filler tube completely, and remove again and notice where the fluid level is on the dip stick,if you need to add fluid to bring it up to full, the correct fluid for your car is printed on the dip stick, you need a transmission funnel and put in in the tube you pulled the dip stick out of.
if you transmission is a standard, there is a 5/8 bolt on the side of the transmission you remove and put something like a screw driver in the hole to see where the fluid level is,.

Drive or reverse takes a moment before it engages sometimes i have to increas rpms

This is a simptom of low transmission fluid - check your transmission fluid level by pulling the dip stick out of the transmission (found in engine compartment) - must have the enigne running - e brake on and in neutral - if level is low add mopar transmission fluid - if level is good there is an internal problem in the transmission

Local mechanic says they can't check fluid level

"Sealed" means there's no dip stick tube.
The Explorers and Lincoln LS have this also.
It is nothing new and you can still change/flush the fluid as usual.
A special procedure is used to check the fluid level.
Not having the dip stick tube is one less place for dirt to get into the transmission.

Transmission fluid

First make sure you need transmission fluid by checking the fluid level. To do this the transmission needs to be warm, in park with the engine running. Pull the dip stick out of the tube and wipe off with a rag or paper towel. Re insert dip stick all the way down and pull dip stick back out. Is the fluid red and is the fluid level in the hatch marks? If so it's ok. If below the min. level mark you will need to add fluid. Use a funnel and stick into the end of the transmission dipstick tube. Add the necessary amount of transmission fluid by pouring it into the funnel. Use ATF-3 fluid and do not overfill. Add a little at a time (like a 1/4 of a quart at a time). Also when checking fluid level be sure vehicle is on level ground.
