Not likely.. The fan speed swich position # 5 is out but that would not have anything to do with to ac not cooling..

Please be more specific, the dial for the fan stopped working and the a/c is doing what? Is this a manual set up or an auto set up, or is it digatal. These can all be differant issues

AC and Cooling Fans Not Working

Try installing a jumper across the N/O terminal at the relay socket. Temp sensor in the radiator or in the thermostat housing supplies the signal for the relay the other relay signal is supplied by A/C in on position. both fans will run continuous with A/C on. One fan runs intermittent relative to water temp. Be careful not to blow a head gasket. If you leave the jumpers in place, the fans will stop when the ignition is turned off, save the engine until you isolate the relay signal problem. then simply remove jumpers and reinstall the relays

Make sure your fan clutch is working. No fan, no cooling of the condenser, no heat dissipation, no cold air. Start the truck and make sure you feel air movement, a lot.

My cooling fan only comes on when the ac is on

There is a direct connection from the ac motor live wire to fan or via relay. The ac thermostat supposed to activate on and off the fan when the cooling temperature goes down. At present that is good but the fan brushes will be soon exhausted.

Sure. But could also be fan switch or motor. Check with a test light to make sure where the voltage stops.

Mercedes benz airconditioning

You might check the cooling fans on the condenser to see if they are running when the ac is on.If they are not check for blown fuse,or bad cooling fan relay.Do you notice if the ac cools better when running constantly, and the ac is not so cool when in traffic, stopping and going, and running slow?If so the cooling fan,or fans are not working. If the fan fuse and the relays check out fine, then replace the fan,or fans.If I can help any more please ask.roniecon@gmail.com

Both cooling fan motors have stopped working

You have 2 fans. One if the temp goes above 195 degrees and the other comes on when the temp reaches 220 or 240 degrees. When the AC is running usually both fans run.
