If you changed the fuel pump you might wanna get a multimeter and check to see if there is 12v going to it, thats where i would start, check the fuse and make sure it didnt pop, if it did and you put a new one in and that one pops your looking at a shorted system

It also has a fuse. Have u checked for 12vdc supply at the fuel pump. U will only get this supply when the engine is cranked

Nine out of ten its the pump that needs replacing. You can check the pump yourself by running wires from the batery to the pump.

No fuel up to injecter pump truck just stalled

Did you check for fuel pressure on the line from the tank while you had the filter off? Do you hear your fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on? First I would listen for the hum of the fuel pump when you turn the key to the run position (not starting the engine) May have to get a helper and listen at the gas filler neck with the cap off. If you dont hear your fuel pump, check your fuses and relays. If the relay clicks when your helper turns the key on ( put your finger on the relay and ear down close to feel/hear the relay actuate)., and fuse is good, yet you do not hear the pump prime, I would say your fuel pump is shot.

If it is a diesel, check for fuel pressure coming off the direct drive pump hose while cranking the motor.

I ram out of gas now my 1998 ford taurus wont start

It's quite possible you burned out the fuel pump. The fuel pump relies on a constant flow of gasoline to cool it. Unfortunately, you have to drop the tank to access the fuel pump, but is a fairly easy fix for an avid do-it-youselfer. Before you go to that length, though, try having someone stand by rear of the car and listen for the "whirr" of the fuel pump when you turn the key to the "RUN" position. (not "START", just "RUN") If they can hear the pump, try turning the key off and on about 5 times to re-pressurize the fuel system before attempting to start the engine. Hope this helps a little and your problem is not too severe. Best of luck!

Replace the fuel pump and fuel filter to correct the problem you are having. Without the proper fuel pressure the engine will not run at all. Hope this will help you. You might check the fuse/relay panel for a blown fuse or relay in it to make sure you are getting power to fuel pump before you go to the trouble of removing the pump and fuel filter. Hope this will help you.

1996 GMC Suburban - Quit Running While Driving, Will Not Start

Listen at the back by the fuel tank for a 1 to 2 second prime cycle whirr from the tank when turning the key to run position after it has been off for at least 10 seconds.
No noise means no running pump.
....and no noise means.....
Most likely it will need a new fuel pump....80%
Fuel pump relay 10%
Fuse or bad wiring 10%

The quick fix to get home is to crank the truck to create oil pressure to fire the pump......and while cranking WHACK the tank hard with a 2by4 or something like jar the pump..... and it may start running long enough to get it somewhere to be repaired.
This works 60% of the time on a dead pump.

If you do hear a most likely need a ignition module or crank or dist pickup.

1992 dodge dakota run fine turned it off an went to start it an now it acts like it is not getting any fuel i put some fuel in the carb to prim it it started but then died i tried this 4 more times with...

Yep, sounds like your not getting fuel alright. Next time that you try to start it try and listen for the fuel pump running( you may need to get someone to listen out side the truck for you) If its not running take something like a rubber mallet, my prefered choice, and give the tank a few good whacks, this will some times get you going. If this does the trick, you will definatly need a new fuel pump. If this still doesn't get you going, it "could" be the fuel pump. The other areas to check would be the fuel pump relay and also the ignition module, can't rember though if this year still used module or just computer GL

1999 Suburban turns over but engine doesn't start...

First, make sure they put oil back in the crankcase. Your motor may be seized. Next, we need to know if the fuel filter has ever been changed. If not, it's probably clogged and it will burn up the fuel pump if you continue to try to force gas into the injectors.

My trucks starts but keep quiting

I see you say that you have a new fuel filter but did you try replacing the fuel pump??? If not you can check the fuel pump simply by turning the key to the ACC position (thats as far as you can turn the key WITHOUT starting the truck) listen by where you pump the gas in and try to hear a low sounding whine if you cant hear it then it could be your fuel pump is dead and needs a new one....or it might be going dead.

Ran out of wont start.

First i would listen to hear if the fuel pump is running!! It will sound like it is whinning back by the fuel hole in the side of the truck! Good possiblity that you burnt the fuel pump up in the truck!! I would try and go to the fuel filer if you dont see anything wrong with the pump! If the filter has been changed and still not crankin up then i would remove the fuel line ( may require special tool) and see if you are getting fuel to the motor!!
