Way to many things to guess at on these. Best to have the codes read. Most every thing on the engine and transmission will cause it to go to reduced power. Then start turn on other s lights, like stability.

check your coil pack, remove both the screws ,disconnect the wiring plug and pull the coil pack up, have a look down each plug cap, there will probably be corrosion on the contacts or on the top of the plugs, this doesent always record a DTC

Ve Holden belina wagon has developed dashboards warning issues Warnings are Stability Control Fault and Engine Fault together. Car loses power then warnings come on and car runs on limited cylinders.

I would recommend to take it to a "trustworthy" mechanical workshop/ or a good auto electrician to determine the cause of the fault. It could be related to quite a few different causes, it is just a mater of determining which one.
The common faults I have seen are ignition coil/ spark plug issues, air flow meter, oxygen sensors or timing chain issues. The workshop will plug in scan tool to give them a clue as to where the problem lies. Sorry I dont have a magic wand. Regards Paul

Have a 1993 ford e350 jamboree that the alternator is overcharging, put new voltage reg. unit on alternator and it seem to fix the problem, but when i went to use it again the charging light came back on...

If you have an engine computer that controls the alternator, you will have to check the wiring from the alt. to the PCM. Also check any fusible links and grounds are often overlooked.
Do you have dual alternators?

SECTION 414-00: Charging System - General Information 2002 E-Series Workshop Manual
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Charging System The charging system is a negative ground system consisting of the following:
  • generator
  • integral/internal voltage regulator
  • charging system warning indicator
  • storage battery
  • necessary wiring and cables
The generator is belt-driven by the engine accessory drive system. Refer to wiring diagrams for schematics and locations of the components and wiring.
The battery is a 12 volt direct current source connected in a negative ground system. The battery case is sealed and includes two vent holes to release gases. The battery has three major functions:
  • engine cranking power source
  • voltage stabilizer for the electrical system
  • temporary power when electrical loads exceed the generator output current
The optional dual generator package (7.3L diesel engine only) consists of an upper/lower dual generator system. The upper generator is a 6G 50/110 generator with a 2.49:1 pulley ratio. The lower generator is a 6G 50/110 generator with a 2.32:1 pulley ratio. Thus the upper and lower generators are not interchangeable.
This system is also monitored and controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM). The PCM monitors both the upper and lower generator I circuits to determine both generators' output and set possible fault codes (diagnostic trouble codes [DTCs]). The PCM only controls the lower generator by turning it on or off by opening or closing the lower generator off only when the glow plugs are commanded on by the PCM to avoid possible damage (excessive voltage) to the glow plugs.
Both generators are independent of one another and only control themselves (through their own internal voltage regulator). If one generator fails, the other generator can maintain system performance under light load conditions. Under a heavy load, the PCM should detect a problem, set a DTC and illuminate the warning indicator.
The PCM controls the charging system warning indicator and will command the light on if the PCM detects a problem on the monitored circuits.

Hi there; I've just started getting a "parking

The most basic check for this is - is your battery up to 100% efficiency. the handbrake module is notorious for faults with low voltage or voltage dips. Next is to check that the brake pads and cables are free and in good condition (pads not worn too far down) as these can cause fault indications. The fact that the park-brake still works and does not jam on or off would indicate that the major components are still working and may just need some attention and recalibrating. T o try a recalibration of the park brake - disconnect your battery for 10 Min's (make sure you have your radio code as this will be needed on reconnect) when battery reconnected follow the instructions on your driver display panel and see if this improves your problem. hope this helps - good luck.

Hi, x 2 warning lights came on tonight on my 2001 bmw 3 series, e46.. Dynamic stability control light remains on and also a yellow (!) where the handbrake light is. Car test due tomorrow, typical

These lights indicate you have an ABS fault as the DSC needs to see a signal from the wheel speed sensors, One of the wheel speed sensors will have failed, find someone with a scanner to determine which one, then replace faulty sensor and reset light
