Question about Toyota Land Cruiser
Smell of gas when you fill tank over a half
Likely to be the gas tank vent hose that allows air to escape from the tank when filling. Probably located somewhere along the trail from the filler tube to the tank and likely to be difficult to reach. The connections get loose and the hose falls off sending fumes into the passenger compartment.

SOURCE: I have a 1994 toyota
It could be a problem with the vent system. A pipe could be blocked or cracked and fumes are getting into the cab via perhaps the trunk. Have the tank vent system checked, it is quite a sophiticated system and involves several pipes etc.
