Whining noise occurs when reducing speed and stops when placing transmission in neutral.

First you want to make sure the noise is not from wheels, brake or any bearings.

If it is transmission problem- not much we can do with transmission...
Try replacing transmission fluid with generic brand. This will cost around $200: if you DIY you have to drop the pan and replace the gasket and filter; if you let the dealer do it they will charge around $250.

If the noise is still there then you need to decide either sell the car or replace the transmission. Few years ago the dealer quote me around $2800? (2003 Town car) for new a transmission installed with warranty.

Depends on your area...few years ago here in Los Angeles, a black TC was still "hot". I was able to sell my 2003 TC without a working transmission. There are many people here knowing how to fix it for cheaper.

I had bad experience repairing an engine with a small shop. They charge less but the engine did not run well and I had to go back to the shop so many times. I still end up sell the car a year after the repair. I really don't recommend dealing with those issues unless you have a very flexible working schedule.

Buy transmission range sensor

Suzuki sells it. (so do all major transmission, parts houses)
to use the latter the words on the trans plate need to be known (read)
if you need better help, you'd have to say EXACTLY
where said sensor is located.
my guess is the scan tool tool you its bad and you believe that?
the scan codes, DTC can be right , but let me give one example of not right. (very common)

the transmission , slips. (bad tranny)
and the input sensor reads right , but the tail sensor reads too slow. well gee, that is because the transmission is slipping.
find a pro tranny guy and get him to check that the transmission is ok, first.
Suzuki does sell a FSM for this car, if open that book , under transmission all this is here, and more, includiing how
to diagnose tranny on car and how to understand tranny DTC errors.
state the symptoms for better help, guessing will be costly.

What size transmission do I have in my 2000 Chrysler Voyager 3.0 automatic?

I answered that question 2 days ago

The correct part & the best price, will
come from a local transmission parts
wholesaler, that sell to all the trans shops
in a 40 mile area of you

They sell to the public

Also there are many,again, professional
trans parts warehouses that sell over the phone
& online.
Call them, they will get what info they need from you

If your replace the module & still have problems, then what?

That is the most failure prone unit, I ever had in my shop,
years ago.
If it ten years old, your wasting your time

95 ford aerostar were do you add transmission fluid

The dipstick tube usally has a red top that says transmission. Withthe stick removed you add the fluild where the stick was. At places theat sell the trans fluild they will also sell you a transmission filler funnel. Also all the quick oil change places will check and fill the oil for you and if you ask they'll show you how it's done.

Ford F150 2006 transmission is down 1 litre. The one garage in this lovely town of 400 does not sell Mercon. Is there another transmission oil I could use. Need to travel 80 k tomorrow to larger centre and...

Hi, Mercon is the type of fluid not a brand. Motorcraft is the brand Ford uses but other companies like Valvoline, Dextron, Pennzoil and so on sell ATF with the Mercon blend. Just make sure not to mix Mercon and Mercon V blends. Good Luck Hope this Fixsya!
