My 97 el 1.6 is having continually failing O2 sensors. EVERTHING from basics to cat converter has been serviced and checked. the first O2 sensor was changed at 100,000 k service. this is killing my...

Is it your primary or secondary O2 sensor that's failing? The secondary is just there to check that the cat is working, and shouldn't impact your gas millage. (My 97 Honda Prelude always threw a secondary O2 reading too high or too low because the cat was gutted). If it's the primary, have someone double check the actual wiring harness for the O2. The EL should use a heated O2 sensor.. which have a heater element in them to warm them up faster so they read accurate sooner. The heater wires may not be functioning, or the wire in the harness for the O2 signal may be damaged or pinched.

Where are the oxygens censors located on a 1999 Acura CL 3.0, need to replace them

The 3.0 is an ODB2 car so it has 2 o2 sensors. One before the CAT and one after the CAT. Check your headers for the primary heated o2 sensor location, and check on top of the cat for the secondary o2 sensor.

You need to check primary and secondary resistences, not just primary as you did.
Primary = 0.67 - 1.05 ohms (You may have a bad multi meter if all read the same)
Secondary = 9.3k - 16k ohms Contributing Member

HOW I CAN KNOW WHICH PUMP GOES ON MY SATURN VUE PRIMARY OR SECONDARY IS 3.0 ENGINE

The primary fuel pump is located in the left side of the tank. If you fill the tank up and it still does not start then it is the primary tank. Problem is that now you will have to drop the tank with a full tank of gas. The primary pump is used to pump the fuel to the fuel rail, while the secondary pump is used to pump fuel from the right side of the tank to the left side. I usually replace both primary and secondary so I don't have to pull the tank again if the secondary is also bad.

Are you sure you have a fuel pump problem? What are your symptoms?

How involved is it to replace the driver's side catalytic converter? card edaler wants $1,200, but i've seen some converters for around $250.

Take your car to a qualified exhaust shop and ask for an OEM or same quality catalytic converter, it would be a LOT cheaper than the dealer one and you will get the same performance. Remember most car dealers make their money from maintainance services.

Fuel to rich bank 1

Change the primary oxygen sensor on the number one cylinder bank. Whichever bank has cylinder number one, is bank one. The primary sensor is the one between the engine and the catalytic converter on that side. There's a secondary sensor behind the catalytic converter, but the primary (pre-cat) sensor is the one used for determining fuel mixture.

Which brake shoe is the primary shoe on a 1998 pontiac grand am? front or back

I'm assuming you mean drum brakes as they are the only ones with primary and secondary shoes. Not all drum brakes have a primary and secondary shoes. On drum brakes with primary and secondary shoes (called duo servo systems) the front shoe is slightly smaller than the rear one and is the primary shoe. On non servo systems, the shoes are the same size -- there is no primary or secondary shoe.
