I have no heat in my 2002 Tahoe. Could it be the Thermostat or the Heater Core? I really can't afford to take it to a dealership or a mechanic right now. Would like to do the work myself

When your driving down the road what does your temp gauge read? If it is in the normal place, about the middle, than the thermostat is working. The next thing to check is the coolant level. Make sure the overflow and the radiator are full. If the radiator gets low enough the first thing to stop working is the heat. If both of those are full than feel the hoses going to the heater core. They should both feel hot with the engine fully warmed up. If one is cold and one is hot than the heater core is plugged. Back flushing the heater may bring it back to life. Check those out first. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Hi there, my headlights for my 2001 Toyota Corolla just stopped working. Brought it in to the dealer and they said it would cost up to $350 to fix. Does anyone have any suggestions how I could fix this...

Hi,
There are several parts that usually breaks down in the lighting system of a car, the most expensive one would be the light switch assembly.
Did you try to go to any small garage to ask them for a free estimate for fixing your light?
The parts can be bought from a wrecking yard/used parts store, for that model or you could ask the mechanic to help you out for the cheapest good condition parts.
They will surely help you out!
Thanks for using Fixya!

I think the bolt of the window mechanism got lose. You need to remove the door panel. It have screws inside the speaker cover, door handle, and the door opener.

AC and power steering not working on 2002 Dodge Neon

Likely just a belt replacement. Its fairly simple if u have experience. Get the proper diagnosis & repair from your mechanic. (no big deal $)

My 01 chevy venture blend door acuator is not working. Is there a way to manually change it when the summer gets here? The ac worked just fine this last summer but I had no heat. The shop manually changed...

Your blend door in the Venture is on the driver side of the van, under the dash just above your right knee at the side of your plenum. You will see a white arm that will move to adjust the blend door. The blend door actuator sits on top of the plenum held down with 3 screws. If you did not want to diagnose the problem you could just wire it in place for summer or winter. Personally I would try and diagnose the problem. Hope this helps.

I have a 2001 Chevy Venture, this fall all of the sudden the air conditioner quit blowing cool air you can push the switch for AC but it doesn't light up or blow cool air. and the rear defroster quit...

I'm afraid I must recommend some professional help with this one. Or maybe a mechanic friend.
There's so many things..... For example the 134a (freon) may have leaked causing the Low Pressure Cut Out Switch, (in the hose under the hood) to keep the compressor off so as to not burn it up.
Could be a fuse or relay. Could be the switch controll on the dash... See what I mean?
Sorry but in my opinion you'll have to bite the bullet and pay the piper. Cheaper in the long run, though. You can replace many things before you luck onto the problem part.

AC died but the fan won't work at all on heat or defrost.

that fan is located on the passenger side under the dash, its really easy to get to. 3 or 4 bolts and one plug to take it out. youll need to buy the fan and a the little resistor/controller thingy mounted next to and pluged in to it. all should be under $150.
