Hello. I have JAGUAR X-Type 2002 VIN SAJKC53M12XC37168. I have got a problem from last month. The engine ventilator switch on itself, independent from temperature of engine or temperature outside. It...

do you mean the radiator cooling fan? if so that is controlled by the engine control module which monitors engine coolant temperature and air con system status, the most likely cause of this problem is the coolant thermostat. or a air con fault. check to see if the radiator is cold when the engine is hot, if so it is a coolant circulation problem. ie.the thermostat is the most likely cause. hope this helps.

Overheating? s type

Had the exact problem. Turned out that it was the thermostat that needed replacing, relatively cheap and quick by mobile mechanic. Things were fine for a year and the second time it happened I assumed it was the same problem. However, this time the thermostat was fine, wasn't sticking, and I had a slow leak in radiator, losing colant and causing engine to overheat, which paradoxically had stopped the heater working as well. Had to get new hose also by local mobile mechanic and everything seems okay again except for the intermittent "stuck in park" problem that a lot of people are also experiencing.

If it's a tilt front end. You just pull the front clip off. All you have to do is disconect the wireing at the conecter. Lower the hood back down, and remove the hinge bolts. Then find a friend to help lift it off.
