SOURCE: My 2002 won,t start. Can hear a click sound.

check the battery under load at a local parts store. Sounds like a dead cell. Also check the cable connections to the battery for corrosion. The starter could be bad but That would be a last check unless it has been dragging. If the battery and connections are ok the starter solenoid would be the culprit. Sometimes you can free them with a light tap with a wrench or LIGHT tacking hammer. It will still need to be replaced, though. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2006 dodge ram diesel won't turn over to start

Sir I can help you with this, I have all the service manuals on your truck and will provide anything you need, but this honestly sounds like a bad wire connection or ground on a primary battery cable. I would trace all my battery cables and clean every connection even the engine ground cable and the one at your starter. I will be glad to help you further, I can post step by step trouble shooting guides on your truck if you need them. Hope this helps.

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.

Car ran good yesterday..won't start today..completely dead..no clicking when trying to start

Open hood and look at left side of engine compartment. Find the braid jumper going from engine block to fender. Grab hold and wiggle. It may be loose from corrosion at the fender end. If possible tighten. If not replace with a new heavy jumper from block to body of car. This a major design flaw since battery charging current and starter current is forced through this skimpy wire and connection. I replaced battery and alternator twice before discovering this defect.

Keep charging battery an it dies

Sorry to say that it sounds like one of the cells in your battery has 'died'. It will show a full charge when sat on the bench but as soon as you put a heavy load (like the starter motor) on it it won't want to know. Only solution is a new battery.

Yellow security is light flashing, battery is charged, hazard light fuse isn't located under the hood for my1990 300zx won't start

If the security light is on then the car thinks someone is trying to steal it. If you can’t make the remote work then you might be able to clear it by disconnecting the Negative battery cable for about 10 minuets

Was having problems and my mechanic said was transmission and fuel pump. just got car back yesterday and it drove like the transmission was still slippin and the check engine light came on. this morning i...

Sounds like battery or battery cable problems to me.
If the battery is bad, you cannot trust ANYTHING the computer is telling you. They tend to set all kinds of codes when the battery has a shorted cell. (including fuel pump circuit and transmission system codes) They get "delirious" from malnutrition. You need to have your charging/starting system thoroughly tested.

I pulled my van into a friends house yesterday, turned off the engine and then lost power to everywhere. Nothing works anymore and of course won't start up

First off check the fuses under the dash. And make sure battery terminal connections are tight and clean.Check for proper tension (roughly 1/2 inch of deflection) on Alternator belt and that belt is present.Sounds like there is a alternator issue.Did your battery light come on while driving? Have a friend jump start you (follow safe jumpstart procedures or you could damage your friends car or yours ie:Ignition key off,Postive cable goes on first when attaching cables, negative cable comes off first when discconnecting cables. Let charge for 15 min or so before trying to start your vehicle ) If it starts look for a battery light on the dash. If no battery light is on then alternator is probably ok and battery is bad (take it out and have it tested at your local autoparts store). If the light is on then you have an alternator problem. To confirm alternator problem check output voltage across battery terminals. Should be min 13.5-14.5 no more than 14.5 If you have to replace the Alternator make sure battery is good and has a full charge and negative batt. cable is disconnected,if not you could potentially ruin you r new alternator

Car wont start, acts like battery is dead. battery shows full charge. full lights, buzzers, etc. put it on charger-didnt start...cleaned cable connections-didnt start...tried to jump with truck-didnt...

Check the battery +12v power connection to the starter is in good order,
Check the ground connection between the battery negative and the engine/starter motor is robust and intact.
If no problem with above, replace the starter motor.

Car want start factor security light flashing and car want start battery went dead and wont start since tried to jump start and everything won work

The factory security light will remain on - this is a standard feature indicating the car is dead.
First, unplug the hazard fuze in the engine bay (this will reset the ecu and remove the flashing)

Next, replace the battery with a new one (or one with proper charge) - keep in mind a small battery will not do anything for these cars, the engines require a lot to push them over (it isnt a honda)
*Make sure to clean the positive and negative battery cables from acid

Then just start it up :)

I didn't start my car yesterday and today it is -19 with a -35 degree windchill. i went to start my car this morning and my car wouldn't start. when i try to start it my car alarm goes off.. how can i shut...

Do u have the key fob to turn off the alarm, or is it not a factory installed one? Just disconnect the negative battery cable and charge the battery, that will disable the alarm while u charge the battery.
