1991 Dodge Dakota fuel pump wireing. I removed pump and tested OK- Tried switching relays (all same in relay box) Still no cycling only a slight noise then silent. Ran 12-v (spiced) to left wire of 5.

engine cranking do you have spark at the plugs and fuel injector pulse? I don't know what testing you have done? I am trying to decide if more than one issue? Did you check voltage and ground at fuel pump connector, engine cranking? Initial prime is one thing but after that, if no rpm signal, no spark--no fuel injector pulse--no fuel pump. W/o rpm signal computer won't ground the asd relay. Any applicable trouble codes?
In my opinion, you can't bench test a fuel pump, I've seen faulty fuel pumps that would run up a storm on the bench but make no pressure when in the gas tank.

Charging output is 14.5 volts at 3000 rpm but at idle it discharges the battery.

replace the voltage regulator
14.5 volts should be at 2000 rpms
It may be best to have the alternator bench tested by an accredited auto electrician as there could be a brush issue

1990 CADILAC BATTERY PROBLEMS

have a load test done on the battery to check for bad cell. Have the alternator bench tested for diode and out put . Remove the earth wire and place an amp meter in the circuit to check what current is being drawn to indicate if bulbs or shorts.. Check that the boot light is turning off , glove box light is off, map reading light is off. interior light is off.

Is my starter bad? When trying to start I hear a single click. Voltmeter shows a drop from about 12V to 8-9V while turning. Starter motor gets really hot, load wires between battery and starter get so...

check to see if you can turn the engine over by hand it maybe siezed and not turn over.this can cause this type of starter problem and voltage drop.check all grounds from the battery to engine block and body under the hood,if you have a bad ground it can cause a similar type problem.

What shall i do ifintegrated circuit alternator is low charging?

REmove the unit and bench test it. There are many conditions that manifest as you describe...A dead cell in a battery would discharge overnight, then a porperly functioning charging system would show lower voltage on the gauge...

Bench test helps you not just parts replace.

Be sure that belts are tight, battery terminals cleaned and tightened...Be certain of ground from battery to the engine..
