Question about Mercury Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Had transmission replaced on 2011 Mercury Mariner. When I picked the car up the radio/sound system did not work. display on, controls don't work, constantly reads "Mercury Mariner Premium Sound".

They told me that this was unrelated to the transmission and told me that they would have to charge me for further work. When I told them that I never had a problem with the sound system they suggested that it happened during the tow. Is it possible that the sound system issue is related to the transmission replacement? Is there a reset or any other fix?

Standard procedure on such jobs is to disconnect the battery. Contact a Mercury Dealer and ask if there is a reset code.

others have had the same problem.

Your transmission needs to be diagnosed, either the TCM ( transmission control module ) is defective or the transmission has mechanical problems.

This is the actuator for the AC/Heater systems temperature control blend door actuator motor drive, the blend door is sticking and the motor gears are jumping teeth. Very soon you will need to have this problem repaired as you will loose the ability to control the air temperature at the register air outlets.

The owners' manual will designate when to inspect it.Replace it before 100K to be safe, and assume it's never been replaced unless you have its history. don-ohio

The radio and the cd turns on but no sound comes out after having the battery replaced. The vehicle is a 05 Mercury Mariner

radio runs off two power wires, one full time power and one switched power check to see which is working. turn the key to acc. and see if power stays on with car off, check all fuses. open the hood and look at battery cables, look to see if everything was hooked up right and if there is a amplifer in your car could be a fuse on the line to the amp either next to the battery or next to the amplifer.
