What is an rz5426 and where did the rod hit it

Posted on Apr 20, 2017

Testimonial: "rz5426 is the Husqvarna model number. The mower blade hit the rod."

  • Bill Boyd Apr 20, 2017

so it is a lawn mower--probably a push type mower and the blades hit a metal rod
now it will not start- probably sheared off the aluminium key in the flywheel( designed for the express purpose of saving the crankshaft from snapping) and the magnet for the coil is now in the wrong place
add to the fact that the crankshaft may be also bent under the mower

Timing chain

bent push rods could have been caused when the chain broke and not from the chain been replaced wrong or the timing out.

if the engine was running when the chain broke the cam would have stopped leaving all the valves in the same positon as the mometum of the fly wheel continued to turn the pistons in the cylendars could hav come up and hitting the valves and bending the push rods. and or damaging the cylendar head.

recommend removing the head and have it checked for damage, as well as replacing the bent push rods, and cylendar gaskit. once the head is checked and the valves are seated well. then replace and follow instructions in the set up for the pistons and cam prior to replacing the chain and setting the timing.

I hope this was helpful.

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Im getting a rattle under the jeep. It sounds like metal hitting metal its not the exhaust for that is not hittig anything. it sounds like its to the rear. Someone said...

Your jeep has two upper and two lower control arms attached to the rear axle. They have rubber bushings where they bolt to the axle and to the body. If the bushings are badly deteriorated, you will get a metal to metal sound when hitting bumps. Have them all checked.

Rear suspension klunk. just replaced coil springs. clunk heard when hitting bump in road at any speed

if u look under the car u will see metal rods called strut rods, these have rubber bushings at each end, the rubber bushings are the common source of the noise you have

What is wrong if when you hit alot of bumps that are uneven the front end shakes so bad i have to almost come to a stop to stop it ?

This could be several different things. Check your balljoints, tie rod ends, or possibly your wheel bearings. Pretty much make sure that your front suspension is tight(without alot of play) and that any boots are not torn and that they are full of grease.

Door opening mechinisim disengaged

the metal rod was not reattached when someone worked on your door. pull the door panel off (partially) and check the handle, follow the rod. If there isn't a rod going to your handle, it should be obvious what is wrong.

you get a mini sledge hammer and hit the metal that its going into the metal stopper is called a wheel stop its made so you cant turn the wheels to far in one direction if you hit it on the side real hard it will fall out and not damage anything
