SOURCE: Installing 4 after market speakers in my Ford F-350. POS/NEG post

this is actually a quotation from a site on the net as i've wondered about it to

"Speaker wire has a mark or strip on one of the conductors this is to indicate polarity of the wire. When installing speakers to the output of an amplifier you need to observe the proper polarity. This is particularly important when installing a surround sound system with front and rear speakers. If the polarity is not followed then the results will be poor balance of sound and even cancellation of some frequencies."

SOURCE: Wiring a Supercharger to a Saturn SL1

You might want to try using an amp wiring kit. I'm not sure what the specs are on those things, but I imagine they put a huge draw on your power supply so it might not be a bad idea to use the amplifier fuse block (usually 80-90 amps) and the heavy gauge wiring to make sure it runs at maximum capacity. Also, the sudden draw on your car's electrical system will rob a lot of power, so you might want to do some research into using a car audio capacitor to minimize the drain. I looked into doing one of these too, and this was the general consensus from several people.

How do I hook up this unit Two wires or four

Almost all car batteries have 2 pos and 2 neg. More precisely, 1 pos post and 1 side connector, 1 neg post and 1 neg side connector. You only usually use use one set or the other depending on what connectors are on the end of your cables. You can connect something else to the side posts if you need to, but generally only pair is used.

You will have to take it to the Dealer. You may have burnt out or the "Control Module" needs to be replaced or reprogrammed. Make sure the battery has not reversed polarity also.

Distributor not firing on a 92 tercel

Don''t know who or how this check was done but should compare resistance between terminals on coil with another small difference was my problem 1991 tercel you can also hook 12v batt. pos. to +term.on coil with sparkplug and wire conn. directly to coil grounding outside of plug to neg.term. of batt. now connect wire to -on coil and momentarily touch to batt. - you should get spark across gap of plug .This will determine for yourself if coil is indeed good or bad. I was very surprised another coil from junkyard cured problem!!!

I have a 91 chevi silverado and when i connect the positive the battery starts to spark alot

Some sparking would be normal if you have the neg. already hooked up but it is best practice to connect the positive first.

With the negative side not connected nor touching any other metal surface, there should be no sparking.

Then connect the negative side. Again, always disconnect the neg. side first and connect the neg. side last. I think you will have less sparking going on then.

Gauge showing low output alt only 1yr old wondering if it could be regulator or batt or wiring

if you have access to a digital multimeter, connect the meter (set to volts) across positive and neg. terminal of the battery, should read roughly 12.6 volts, close to 10 volts, battery may be going out, also test the alt output, disconnect neg term and place negative lead to battery neg post and positive lead to neg battery cable (make sure meter is set to amps) should read near the rating, if both those, then you'd want to do a resistance test, (set meter to Ohms) disconnect battery and connect meter neg to either pos cable terminal or where the pos cable connects to the alt and connect positive lead to opposite of neg, should read next to 0, the check resistance of the ground by connecting meter between batt neg cable and body of alt.

If you are talking about a big spark, then I would say you have a positive batt cable that is shorted to the frame or engine somewhere. Follow it down to the starter. Also check the wire that goes to the alternator. Is the insulation rubbed off, or is it pinched anywhere?
