What do you mean by it cuts off? The engine quits running? If so, is that true in reverse too?

Testimonial: "ONLY CUTS OFF WHEN YOU PUT INTO ANY GEAR.DRIVES GOOD.HAS GOOD FUEL PSI.REMOVED AND CLEANED IAV AND IT SEEMS TO WORK FINE.UNPLUGGED MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND IT MAKES NO DIFFERANCE."

Sounds like a vacuum leak or maybe a stuck or defective EGR valve. Do you have a vacuum gauge available? Another thing that can cause lack of power is if the camshaft timing is off. Have you ever replaced the drive belt or chain for the cam?

could be clogged fuel injectors or fuel filter could be plugged or your fuel pump is weak and needing replaced, what makes fuel pumps go bad in most vehichles is driving with less than a 1/4 tank of gas,it gets the fuel pump hot and works it too hard

1994 silverdo 75000 miles wont chane into high all time sometimes it wont move when changing into higher gear **** when you stop cut off it runs good next time happens about once a week thinking computer...

Sounds like a symptom of a low fluid level or either a clogging filter. Change your fluid and the filter, and see if this doesnt alleviate your problem.

Transmission problem 1994 ford t-bird 4.6 LX

It's probably not the tranny. I had a random downshifting problem with mine, and sometimes it wouldn't even go into any gear. It turned out to be the 6-position switch on the side of the tranny that your gearshift handle controls. Evidently, something spilt through the colsol and gummed up the switch, causing random signals to be sent to the computer, which then told the tranny to shift. For around $200.00, replace the switch before letting someone talk you into rebuilding the tranny.

I have 94 T-bird with 4.6 v8, engine wont run, changed plugs, wires, good fuel pressure, injector pulse, good fire, no obvious vacuum leaks. Spins over good, starts, but wont run. Any idea what to try...

All I can think of is to check the compression. Did you replace the plugs and wires because it wouldn't run? Does it even try? Does it cough and sput?
