Do you have an OBDII reader? Are you getting fault codes off it? You can buy a cheap reader off e-bay and use it with your smart phone. https://www.ebay.com/p/?iid=201486908980&lpid=82&&&ul_noapp=true&chn=ps The forum below has similiar issues with various solutions.

My volvo V50 2.0D is showing that i have a 'brake failure stop slowly'. This has come on after the service/maintenance light has been on for a week or so now. It has also showed that i need my 'anti skid...

Check battery voltage (engine off= 12V; engine on=14.4V), then check fuses, then connect with Volvo diagnostic tool and check for error codes.

Parking Brake, ABS, Traction Control & Anti Skid lights on

One or more of the sensors in the wheels that are responsible for these functions is faulty. It is sending a signal that is mucking up the calculations that control the brakes and engine for traction control and anti skid. All of them need to be checked!

Brake light switch on 2002 chevy siloverado

Cruise control deactivates once you press the brake pedal. The brake switch us an input to the cruise control module. So it is possible that your brake switch went bad keping the lights on and making the cruise control module think you are applying the brakes when in fact you are not. Replace the brake light switch and check operation.

I have 4 sensor lights on ABS, brake, VCS and skid light. I have new brakes and they are fine. Also, my cruise will not set

The abs , traction control , transmission and cruise are all connected. You will need to have codes pulled to even know where to start.

The anti lock light stays on all the time. Mechanic wants over $500 to fix. What can I do?

Depending on your financial situation, you can drive it like it is for now. You will not have any protection from the anti-skid as far as its control of your braking, but the brakes will work just like the old brakes where the driver controlled them. I am not recommending you drive indefinately, but in most cases the anti-skid light just means that it has detected a failure in the anti-skid system and had relinquished control of the brakes back to the driver.

Car skids while driving on snow

you may need to have your anti lock brakes servicd assuming you have abs this may also be a light you have on tires also play vital role the front and bake brakes have to be adjusted indpentanly so just cause you put on new front brakes the rear still have to be adjusted somtimes they dont even work and no one notices since the front brakes acount for most of your stoppping power

well because the abs light indicates a problem with your anti-lock braking system you need to find out why it is on.... keep in mind one quick way you would disengage your cruise is with the brake pedal.
under the hood is a fuse panel (often located near the battery) ... see if there is a relay in the for your cruise... replace that.
