SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator

How do you know that it is the regulator?
these 4.3 motors had a lot of trouble from 93 to 98, I know I had 2 of them.
What happened to mine was that the intake kept getting very carboned up. After I would clean it, the truck would run fine for about 5 or 6 months, then same thing.
Theres actually a class action lawsuit about this that I believe has been settled, you may have recourse if you bought it through a dealer. Good luck. You'll need it.

How to change a 2005 nissan sentra fuel pressure regulator

If you want to replace the fuel pump regulator you are better off getting the whole fuel pump module I know its expensive. The problem is you went on line and there is a bunch of chatter about the fuel pump causing delayed starts. They are right. There is a TSB Nissan put out this includes the fuel pump and there is no mention of the regulator that I know of.

Where is the fuel pump located in a 2005 Neon and how do you replace it?

Locate the Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump

  • Raise the Neon's rear end on jack stands. Remove the panel inside the trunk covering the fuel pump assembly. The fuel filter should be on top of this. On most Dodge Neons the filter is usually directly attached to the fuel pump. In that case, those two parts should not be separated and should be replaced together. Its a silver dome about 2.5 inchs round with a single plastic hose coming off it.

  • REMOVAL :-------
WARNING: THE FUEL SYSTEM IS UNDER A CONSTANT PRESSURE, EVEN WITH ENGINE OFF. BEFORE SERVICING THE FUEL FILTER/FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, THE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE RELEASED.

    1. Refer to Fuel System Pressure Release in the Fuel Delivery System section of this group. The fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator is located on the top of fuel pump module. Fuel pump module removal is not necessary.
    2. Raise vehicle on hoist.
    3. Disconnect fuel supply line at the Filter/Regulator nipple.
    4. Depress locking spring tab on side of Fuel/Regulator and rotate 90 ° counter-clockwise and pull out. NOTE:Make sure that the upper and lower O-rings are on the Filter/Regulator assembly.

    INSTALLATION
Lightly lubricate the O-rings with engine oil.

    1. Insert Filter/Regulator into the opening in the fuel pump module, align the two hold down tabs with the flange.
      1. While applying downward pressure, rotate the Filter/Regulator clockwise until the the spring tab engages the locating slot.
      2. Connect the fuel line to the Filter/Regulator.
      3. Lower vehicle from hoist.----------------

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I checked my fuel pressure regulator and no oil squirted out could that mean my fuel filter is clogged. i already changed the fuel pump and that wasn't the problem

So what is the problem? What is the fuel pressure? why was the fuel pump replaced? do you hear it running? Theres no way OIL could ever come out of a Fuel Pressure Regulator. You should ALWAYS replace the filter when replacing the pump. Some Saturns have the regulator built into the filter.

WHERES RESET SWITCH FOR FUEL PUMP

Honda's have a fuel pump cutoff crash safety switch, u have it confused with Fords, they have what is called an "inertia switch" to cut off fuel flow after a crash, Honda's use key on engine off oil pressure switch to stop fuel flow, does the same as the Ford switch but a diff way.

    Have gas in engine oil

HI, this unfortunate leakage of gas into your oil is being caused be a faulty fuel pressure regulator. there is a diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator assembly that may have ruptured, in return, sending small amounts of fuel into the intake, via the vacuum line that connects the regulator to the intake.

simply replacing the fuel pressure regulator will fix this issue.

    Please rate and god bless:)

Gas smell inside my 2005 Pontiac Grandam

it will have zero effect, I would check and see if the carbon canister vapor recovery is saturated with fuel, this is the most common cause, also check all the lines and the bottom of fuel tanl for an oil stain, that si left by gas.
