Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

Just purchased a 2008 Chev Uplander, looks good, but it seems to be sucking up gas. the info button says I'm 13.8 mpg. We haven't put on many miles, maybe 50 but they are 90% highway miles. Terrible

I'm praying this is not a permanent condition. Is it normal for this vehicle? The seller told me 18 in town - 24 highway.

SOURCE: poor gas mileage on 2008 Ford taurus

Are you using the correct grade of fuel.
Manufacturers claim that a car will do 28 to the gallon.
This is done under ideal conditions at a constant speed on a rolling road.
Wind, hills, overtaking and tire pressures will decrease fuel mileage.
Your car is ok. Don`t expect much more unless you want to drive at 56mph
good luck

SOURCE: 2007 kia rondo seems to use alot of gas

I have the same issue of low gas mileage. My 2008 Kia Rondo with V6 (2.7Lt) gets 20-21 mpg in average. Even for highway mileage, it is around 21-22mpg. Very poor gas mileage. Disappointed. I hope it would improve in the future.

Click on the link.
Found that info in my database.
As far as programming your transmitter/key fob, my info says you need a scan tool that can communicate with that system. Your owners manual should have some basic info on your key fob?

Change fuel filter in a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander

prev.gif next.gif Fuel Filter The fuel filter is part of the fuel tank module. (in the fuel tank)

It's kind of difficult to drop a fuel tank and replace the fuel tank module due to the weight and danger of gasoline catching fire or exploding.

I have a 2000 Ford Windstar W/ 3.8, the codes that came up said that there was no power going to the HO2 sensors. The mechanic said that there was a short some were. Where can I start looking?? We are only...

try this. take out the oxy sensor. use a solvent(Berkline 2+2.) and clean ends of sensor. then buy dielectric grease(it looks like vaseline) and put on connectors. plug back in.

buy can of SEAFOAM and add to a 1/2 tank(at least) of PREMIUM gas. change out fuel filter.

This is another problem caused by Ethanol Gas Syndrome.

the ethanol creates water and turns the fuel to a milky substance. and clogs up injectors, egr valves, carbomizes valves, and other things.

After changing f filter, and adding SF to gas, let car idle for 3-5 min. then drive car approx 10 miles(hard)

If you can afford it, replace the fuel filter again. After this, you should see marked improvement. add SF every 3-5000 miles and it will keep your vehicle running good. good luck.
