Do not top off your gas tank. The gas is going into carbon canister which is only for fuel vapors to go into (carbon canister opening near the top of fuel neck near the gas cap). Your flooding the fuel vapor canister with liquid fuel; of course you are going to get a sensor message... 'Evap emmission,control sys leak

P0443 The fuel vapor canister reduces that gas smell on hot days outside/inside of car. The fuel vapor canister fillers bad smells from gas tank on hot days when the gas expands and burps fumes through carbon canister filter. From the canister (gas vapor fumes) goes back into the engine to be burned again...it's a closed loop for vapors to be recycled though engine. Don't worry, once the carbon canister dries out and no longer flooded with raw fuel the code should go away...just don't let the top off fuel tank back flow into the 'Evap emission control' carbon filter near the top and close to the gas cap...:)

I know chrysler has limits on the age of the vehicle and the mileage. 17 years may be pushing it. I know they extended coverage on some vehicles for 12 years/120,000 miles. Otherwise the basic federal emissions warranty is 8 years/ 80,000 miles.

Depending on the shop you go to for this you are looking at anywhere from 250 to 600 to replace the fuel pump if you have an in tank fuel pump, this could go even higher in some areas. This is because of the typical part cost, about 150 to 200, and that in many cases the tank must be removed in order to replace the pump.

2) Replace the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and spark plugs if these are more than 60,000 miles old.
