Concrete repair for small cracks

Have several cracks & holes in various place on block wall. also need to replace under wrought iron porch supports

try to get something call barsleak and add it to it, just follow directions on the pakage, but after that always keep an eye on colant level and temperature gage

just spray it a little if needed with WD-40 to help loosen then I pry it forward from behind with a good size screwdriver or similar, and it just kind of rolls out.

SOURCE: leaking coolant from a small hole located in the

water pump failure, water pump on these run off the timing chain and the timing chain runs in oil, so they could not just put a weep hole on the pump because it would go strait to the oil pan, instead they redirected the coolant from the leaking pump to just below the thermostat housing. And good luck, it's at least a 6 hour job on these. Brandon-MO

My freon is shooting out under driver seat through a line under my van is it costly to replace

didnt specify vehicle but assuming van has a rear a/c control depending on how long the line is varies ---replacement line for a will just say suburban rear a/c from dealer $1200.00 if its a crack or hole and is small enough to be welded [ aluminum ] if you can find a shop or radiator repair shop possible to have welded than can reservice a/c system or they make a rear block off kit for about 50 to 70

Cause of oil engine to mix in radiator

Most likely would be head gasket,the oil would need to be under pressure to get in. The head gasket has several places where oil and antifreeze pass through and there is prably a place where a oil passage as linked to a water passage

Need advice on how to modify wrought iron gate so it closes properly. (See details below).

This sounds like a difficult ask. Can I ask why your ground moves? I think that in such condotions the best thing to do might be to concrete in, at some depth, some posts, maybe 4ft down and concreting them in. Can't really think of a method that might compensate for ground conditions. Sorry to prattle on but II am intrigued, are the gates close to a residence, if so was any geotech
carried out to test the soil?

The relay is above the fuse box accessed on the drivers side above the drivers feet. The relay is in the third receptacle from the left on top of the block. A relay costa from $17 up. if your handy with a solder iron when you get the relay out pop the cover off with a small screwdriver. get a magnifying glass and check the solder joints. Usually they crack from the heat stress. Just resolder joints if you find one cracked. and you should be ready to go. If no joints are cracked then its time for a new relay. I just replaced one on a 98 ram pickup owner said just replace it. so i did.

Truck is not running, has no antifreeze and we are in for a deep freeze. Do we need to pull out the freeze out plug in engine or not. If

Yes take it out. You can tap it with a flat head screwdriver on an angle until its through. Then carefully pry it out. If you're not comfortable doing it this way drill a half inch hole in it to relieve the seal.
Pour a jug of pure antifreeze in where the thermostat is. (remove it first)
This may also keep your block from cracking.

If it has a block heater, simply plug it in and disregard all of the above.

Bolt holes are brokn out on the block are not fix able

This might be an option if you want to keep the engine. If you can get to this area without pulling the engine and IF the block is thick enough, you can have a stainless steel bracket welded to the block to replace the mounting holes that are broken. It takes a bit of fabrication to make--usually a good vise, torch and a hammer is all you'll need. I have a Henry J with a 348 chevy engine in it. The engine is unique and i wanted to keep it so I had to do so welding on it for an A/C bracket and Chrysler center mounted motor supports. Stainless steel welding rods (308 rods) work great when welding cast iron blocks. I've even repaired cracked piston bores with them.

Water in oil

I have yet to see a cracked head on a 22R,so more than likely a blown head gasket,unless you overheated and warped the head and worst case a hole between the cylinder wall and water jacket(this is pretty rare).The only way to tell short of using some expensive tools or taking to your local shop is to pull the head and inspect the gasket for leakage wich is generally fairly obvious(separation of the gasket layers,oil and water between water and oil passages)and checking the head deck for warpage.If there is obvious leakage in the gasket you're looking at a top end gasket set if the head is slightly warped you can get away with a thick graphite head gasket,I personally use these as they are very forgiving on slightly warped and scratched head decks and inepensive also,but a severly warped head will require milling at a machine shop or replacement.

My son went through a puddle and hydrolocked his engine. Air intake had water in it and spark plugs were wet. Dodge says crank turns nicely by hand, however #1 piston not working and found piece of #1...

ouch, sorry to hear that. i have seen that many times. and the easiest thing to do is yes install long block. but there are more choices to take, here is my thought. OK so they say number one is in the oil pan ? so they removed the oil pan ? OK well then how do the cylinder walls look ? um OK are the scratched ? scored or is the a huge gouge on the cylinder wall ? OK if the wall is OK then the piston took the hit ? they need to do their job not just shot gun it. have they took a borescope in through the spark plug hole ? to look for damage ? if the piston and rod are damaged and nothing else then replace the piston and rod. they are trying to get ya for parts. careful here cause they may get mad and jack the labor. stay calm and get several bids for the job. us techs are starving right now as well as the small shop owner. use this and take a loss for diag at the current place if ya have to. you would prolly save money at a machine shop type of auto repair who does machine work in house. good luck

I can't remove the gas tank from a 92 ford explorer!

U are going to have to do the following, and u will need either concrete blocks or/and 6x6 lumber or some type of planks. If u have to purchase these items, keep them clean and in good shape and u can actually return them when done w/ the project.
Make a ramp with planks and concrete blocks, drive up (very carefully!) to get the ford up in the air, if u can't drive it, jack up one wheel at a time, placing blocks under the tires to raise it off the ground. U will have to place blocks under the jack also. PLEASE make sure the ford is well supported and safe to crawl around underneath while u remove the tank.
