hi, the problem your having sounds like its something to do with the fuel, the first thing to try would be by buying a fuel additive that you pour into the tank you can buy this from most petrol stations just make sure you buy the correct type ie petrol or diesel then follow the instructions on the bottle.

You will then need to give the car a good run doing this should solve your problme but make sure you give it a good run as it takes a while to run through the whole fuel system ok.

If after doing this you are still having problems then i would give the car a full service replace all filters, plugs etc to ensure their is no muck causing any problems.

The brushes get worn down on these motors. Your "give it a boost" description leads me to believe this is your problem. You can replace the brushes without buying new motors if you find a place to buy them.
