SOURCE: Broken lug stud on rear wheel.

It appears from the excellent picture that the stud has to be spun to line up the half moons at the rear of the stud.Use two thin nuts locked together so you can spin the remaining stud to line up with reliefs in back of the retainer.

SOURCE: Drivers side lug nuts have sheared off twice after

thats wierd...... is the wheel clean and not corroded, where the wheel and hub meet? lug studs clean? hub clean, no rust? wheel properly torqued to 100 ft lbs?

SOURCE: 2 lug-nut studs sheared off

I would only be guessing on the why it happened

You would be the one to know the vehicles history

I NEVER use air guns on wheel lugs or seldom
anything else & I have every tool you can own

The pros can not start their day or function at all
without an air tool

So I would say they broke them with too much air

Also, I will disagree with the trade publications, which
I get, having once owned a business, based on
almost 50 years experience & say you need clean
studs & I use anti-seize and only 80# on lugs nuts.
Never had one loosen up.

Hopefully you can hammer them out & install new ones

If they were on the front, then you don't always have clearance
& have to replace an expensive hub assy.

You can do that yourself
Get the studs at parts store & use an old nut & some spacers
or washers to draw then in

Or have a tire store do it
They may be able to use there air gun to pull them in
without any issues

SOURCE: jeep broken lug nut stud

Causes are the mounting surface of the the rotor or drum not clean when wheel was installed, wheel bent, suspension damaged, wheels not torques down correctly or left loose.

How do i release the spare tire on my 2005 Kia Sedona

Hi, the spare tire is stored on the underside of the vehicle, under the right-side cargo door. The bolt is located in a recessed area that is protected by a small square plastic covering. To remove the spare tire, find and remove the bolt cover, then use your lug nut wrench to loosen the bolt holding the tire.
Remove the spare tire fastener's plastic cover, place the lug nut wrench onto the lug nut holding the tire onto the bolt, turn the wrench in a counter-clockwise direction until the tire is released and reaches the ground.

I have a kia sedona 2009 minivan and I am wondering what size winter tires to buy.Should I buy 235-60-17 or 225-70-16. Thank-you

They are both pretty much the same size. The first # (take for example 235/60) 235 is the width of the tire and the 60 is the percentage of the width in height. So the other tire which is 225 is narrower but 70 percent of that width is the height. So what you have is 2 tires that are pretty much the same height but one is a bit narrower. Either tire should be just fine on your van. I hope that isn't too confusing

the Kia Sedona is identical to my hyundai entorage minivan, this happen several times to me you have to tighten the nut that secures the wiper assembly to the motor, the shaft gets worn and losens up. you may have to replace the wiper motor.

Sheared front lug

First remove wheel from car. Next take large hammer and drive whats left of lug out, you may need to use a punch if sheared off below hub hight. Now insert new lug stud in from back side of hub and use a open style lug nut (like those you see on old cars without nice wheels) and put on upside down, flat side towards hub. tighten up by hand then use socket to tighten down untill stud is pulled in all the way. In some cases you may need to use a few washes under nut to give enough room for shank on stud.
