Stop your car. Do not drive at all since there is a slight chance you did not ruin the engine.

Have a 1999 F350 with the 5.4 Triton. While driving lost oil pressure. Then it was fluxuating. Now it acts like it's locked up. Any suggestions?

Hello Dreama Rhodes,

Those symptoms would lead to a SERIOUS OIL leak conclusion.

Hopefully the LOCK-UP is your F350... self defense shut down
rather than an actual seizure...

You need ti be checking oil levels like your engine's life depends on it... a lost drain plug, broken oil line, damaged or loose FILTER...

ALL
ought to be pretty obvious

Drive no where until you are sure your
ENGINE WILL SURVIVE.

My car lost power while I was driving plus it was smoking I pulled over and in like 20 min time I had a big oil leak under it and befor it didn't leak oil what is wrong with it

This is a pretty good description of an engine that has suffered some serious internal damage.
Lost power and smoking translates to "at least one cylinder is not firing properly and the smoke is an indication that oil is getting into the cylinder and then into the hot exhaust.
The big oil leak means that something is broken and oil is leaking out of that spot. Are you sure that is oil? Other fluids (like transmission fluid) can look like oil.

What to do?????? It's time to look at the engine to see where the oil is coming from, and then try to determine why, and what happened, and what repair is needed.

Please don't even consider driving or starting the engine until the problem is identified and repaired, or, and believe me on this, The engine will quickly become a thing of the past.

Oil pressure problem

if you have a 4jx1 3.0 engine then the engine wont run properly because engine oil pressure is what drives the direct injection system.
Check for blocked oil filters 2 pieces if not remove the oil pan and check the oil pickup tube for oil sludge blockage

Engine Knocking / No Power

Dosent sound good. Oil light on means you lost oil pressure. and the knocking sound is the damage done due to low pressure. Start looking for another engine or another van.

I have a 1997 ford expedition and today when i started it I had oil pressure then I drove down the road and lost all pressure and engine started to tick, I turned the engine off and then back on and The...

Sounds like the oil pump is going out. I would not drive it until you find out for sure. The ticking is oil not reaching the valves and rockers.

Engine knocking on toyota corolla after replacing damaged sump

oil pan and sump damage are very likely to lead to oil distribution problems, this is not temporary, if you hear a knock have it checked by a local mechanic who can verify it for you, it is possible that the engine is damaged internally.

Lost oil pressure while driving

change oil filter use a k&n or mobile one, seen same problem on caravans some oil filters cannot take the pressure and break up inside causeing no flow of oil period.could happen at any time with cheap oil filters, chryslers have high volume oil pumps and require a better flowing filter.
as for your engine not starting you may have severe bearing wear, from low oil pressure.

The engine lost power and oil

If the oil is disappearing with no visible stains on the ground, there are a couple possibilities. One is that it's leaking out under the car while driving, and blowing out along the bottom of the car and on the road as you drive. Look at the bottom of the car and see if you see streaks of oil.

If not, and you're down on power, it's possible that you have a head gasket leak that is allowing oil to be burned in the combustion chambers. Do you have visible blue smoke from the tailpipes, especially when revving the engine? Blue smoke is a telltale sign of an engine burning oil.

How quickly are you losing oil? Can you top it off and then check the dipstick regularly to see how quickly (mileage-wise) you're losing it?
