Open Question

The Kent Bayside cruiser will need a wider three piece crank to accept the 2stroke pull start centrifugal clutch engine kit, what should I ask for when ordering this crank for this bike.

The inside diameter appears to be approx. 1 7/8 inches.

my 2006 pt cruiser won"t start. the light do come on but it will not turn over just a clicking sound. i drove it for about an hour then went back to it 30 mins later and it didn"t start. just clicking sound.

if your looking for low priced clutch kit check auction site. i got mine there for cheap and its the same products you would find at auto parts store. and it was a midrange preformance part for the cost of a low cost replacement part that an auto shop would sell.
the thicker the pads means less shifting time and faster response.

My thought is to get a refund from the shop that tried to replace parts in order to secure your problem. The job of the shop is to diagnose the problem, not to replace items that may be the problem. Chrysler Master Techs are not trained to just replace parts, they fix the problem by diagnosing it properly.

You need to see a Chrysler dealership so they can attach a DRBIII and tell you exactly what is at stake.

I hope this helps you. I would be mad as heck.

I would not think the plugs and wires would be the problem because they would all have to fail at the same time to provide the symptom you experienced.

is the clutch power assisted(vacuum)?if so couldvery well have some bearing on what is happening.I WILL TELL YOU A STOREY.A couple of months ago I changed the clutch master cyl. on my land cruiser and because I do all my own work still I didnot obey the golden rule..3days later i changed the slave cyl...l again did not obay the golden rule...... 2 days later iagain pulled the master cyl off cleaned it all out, but this time I OBEYED THE GOLDEN RULE,WHICH IS::always change the brake fluid when ever you change amaster cylinder either brake or clutch or when I was doing work for other people,if the brakes were worked on or the clutch you drained the sytem and relaced the fluid...ANY COMMERCIAL WORKSHOP THAT DOES NOT DO THIS IS GOING TO HAVE COMEBACKS may only be 5or10% but for a $5container of fluid it isn` t worth the chance I was in that5 or 10 % are you? that is true,not more than 3 months ago give it some thought ....................

JB weld will not work get it welded by a pro with the proper hi frequency welder otherwise you will have to replace the box ,and yes get a new cylinder ,hope you get sorted

You said that you been informed that the gas kit was replaced !!!!!!
what gas kit they talking about? and is your toyota been serviced by an expert?
anyway, what happened is that the ECU has lost the idle position for some reason.
you just need to do this: with ignition off, pull out the 20 amp EFI fuse, located in the fuse box under the hood, for 2 minutes, then put it back, start the engine and let it idle, wait till the engine warm up, drive and enjoy.

Engine cranks but will not start:
1. Fuel pump control circuit.
2. Engine Compression.
3. Ignition system.
Crank the engine continuously for 5 Sec, and pull up the error codes, if any.

you'll need a three jaw puller and a long bolt that is one size smaller than the crank pulley bolt. The bolt will need to seat in the end of the hole for the crank pulley bolt and still be long enough to allow the crank pulley to be removed.

The three jaw pulley can then be installed so that it locks onto the three tabs in the center of the pulley. The center of the three jaw will then push on the bolt head and pull the pulley off.

OTC make a tool just for this, but a three jaw and a long bolt will do the job.

Where's the adjustment for the timing belt on the 2003 pt cruiser??

Its not really adjustable. The timing belt is under a plastic cover on the face of the engine(passenger side end of the engine) It has two upper gears for the cams, a tensioner, rollers,and the lower gear for the crank. These are set with the timing marks on these three gears, The tensioner takes up the slack and they cant even be one tooth off. Its not easy to get to this shy of pulling the motor, so if the car is running at all I doubt its timing trouble unless its something to do with cam or crank sensors. If the car isnt running, and sounds funny when you turn it over, like it rolls over to fast or it rolls a few times and then locks up, Your timing belt is probably broke. Hope this helps, Clay

There is an easy way to determine wether your getting spark or not. Take a plug wire off a spark plug and put it next to a solid piece of metal like a bracket (somewhere you can see the end of the wire sparking) hold the wire behind the connection point, and crank the engine (have someone help). If you see a spark, you are getting spark to the plugs, but may still have a problem with the coil pack. There is only one way to find out. Take the coil pack off, and look at it. There are two types of coil packs - 1 piece and three piece (others may be possible) on a three piece, you will need to have each one tested to determine whether it's bad or not. On a one piece, pull it off and look at the glue like material underneath it, that part is called the modular (the coil pack(s) will screw down to it. The modular may be bad, and may be able to test it as well.
