These valves are not adjustable, they are hydraulic design. If they are noisy then there is a problem with the followers.

Need to know valve adjustment for 2012 ram 3500 turbo deisel and do you have to adjust the exaust valve n if so what is the spe. Tk. Joey

The 24-valve overhead system is a "low-maintenance"
design. Routine adjustments are no longer
necessary, however, measurement should still take
place when trouble-shooting performance problems,
or upon completion of a repair that includes removal
and installation of the valve train components or
(1) Disconnect battery negative cables.
(2) Remove cylinder head cover (Refer to 9 -
(3) Using the crankshaft barring tool #7471-B,
rotate crankshaft to align damper TDC mark to
12:00 o'clock position.
(a) If both number one cylinder rocker levers are
loose, continue to next step.
(b) If both number one clylinder rocker levers
are not loose, rotate crankshaft 360 degrees.
(4) With the engine in this position, valve lash can
be measured at the following rocker arms: INTAKE
1-2-4 / EXHAUST 1-3-5. Measure the valve lash by
inserting a feeler gauge between the rocker arm
socket and crosshead (Fig. 32). Refer to VALVE
LASH LIMIT CHART for the correct specifications. If
the measurement falls within the limits, adjustment/
resetting is not necessary. If measurement
finds the lash outside of the limits, adjustment/resetting
is required.
0.152 mm ( 0.006 in.)
0.381 mm (0.015 in.)
0.381 mm (0.015 in.)
0.762 mm (0.030 in.)
If measured valve lash falls within these
specifications, no adjustment/reset is necessary.
Engine operation within these ranges has no adverse
affect on performance, emissions, fuel economy or
level of engine noise.
(5) If adjustment/resetting is required, loosen the
lock nut on rocker arms and turn the adjusting screw
until the desired lash is obtained:
² INTAKE 0.254 mm (0.010 in.)
² EXHAUST 0.508 mm (0.020 in.) Tighten the
lock nut to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) and re-check the valve
(6) Using the crankshaft barring tool, rotate the
crankshaft one revolution (360°) to align the
damper TDC mark to the 12 o'clock position.
(7) With the engine in this position, valve lash can
be measured at the remaining rocker arms: INTAKE
3-5-6 / EXHAUST 2-4-6. Use the same method as
above for determining whether adjustment is necessary,
and adjust those that are found to be outside of
the limits.
(8) Install the cylinder head cover (Refer to 9 -
(9) Connect the battery negative cables.

What is cylinder head gasket

The cylinder head gasket is between the cylinder head and the block. There are some procedures for the valve train and timing, that you need to know, because you can reassemble the engine with the camshaft out of time, if you do not know what you are doing.

This is not like putting on a Alternator or a starter that has no adjustment, there are clearances for some valve assemblies and every engine has a gear or chain in the timing that must be set correctly for the engine to work once it is assembled.

Need to know where the engine intake valve is located

May need to clarify what you are needing. There is an intake manifold that feeds gas and air to the the engine usually the top.
Also each cylinder has 1 to 2 intake valves in each cylinder so a v/8 has 8-16 intake valves. they are located in the heads and are partially visible by removing the valve covers. To re seat a valve you have to remove the heads.
Clarify so we can help more

Can you tell me why is my ford explore water

If your putting straight water in the system it could be boiling off and evaporating. Put a 50 / 50 mix of water and Anti Freeze in the radiator and it should reduce this. Another possible solution is a possible problem with you head gasket or Possibly the block it itself. Do a compression check on all cylinders and make sure the compression on all cylinders is withing 5 to 10 lbs when the engine is warm. If it is a low compression issue you need a valve job or valve adjustments if it is a high compression situation, 11 lbs or more compression on 1 cylinder than all the rest you have a Blown Head Gasket or Cracked Cylinder or Head assembly. This type of situation needs to be repaired as soon as possible.

1998 ford expadition ticking noise ,sound like valve spring broke slightly rough idel loss of power. oil pressure good every thing seems fine.

have your engine valve tappets adjusted to its specified adjustment by a competent mechanic then if the noise is still there then you need to have the engine timing checked. if these doesnt solve the problem then you need to pulldown the cylinder head to inspect the camshaft condition...

Not running anymore

need to loosen off on the new valve springs, sounds like thry mea be too tight to let the engine turn over.If you find TDC (TOP DEAD CENTER) per your gm spects use a feller gage to get starded in tighting down the valve springs good enough to get it running than adjust as needed to take the tapping out.
