SOURCE: where is the shift control 2-3 solenoid located on a 1996

shift solenoids are located inside the transmission. The easiest way to get to them, is to remove the drivers side front tire, and CV axle. There will be a square aluminum cover right there. IF you remove this cover, all the solenoids will be right there.

first thing is to run the fault codes to determine where the fault could be
it may be a simple flat battery in the fob key that is not signalling the immobilizer system or air in the fuel system if diesel or the fuel shut off solenoid not working

Fault codes P0236 and P0046 keep coming up on my freelander1 td4 2004


P0236 = Possible causes are

1. Boost pressure sensor harness is open or shorted
2. Boost pressure sensor circuit poor electrical connection
3. Faulty boost pressure sensor
4. Faulty Turbo/Super Charger
5. Engine over temperature
6. Ignition misfire exceeds the threshold
7. Faulty Knock sensor (KS)

P0046 = Turbo/Super Charger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit Range/Performance

Hino 700 engine went off while driving and wont start. What could be the problem


the reasons can be crank/cam shaft position sensor/s --wiring to sensors
fuel pressure to injectors too low---fuel pump
ignition /pump stop control solenoid
blocked tank vent ---pump staving from the vacuum in the tank
failed fuel line allowing air into pump
have a service dealer read the fault codes to get a better diagnosis and quote

2000 a4tdi turbo boost problem seems to goto into limp mode at around 60mph fine upto then had it on diagnosis comes up boost problem?


In your case the turbocharger is responsible for engine losing power.
The car goes in "limp home" mode!!!
After scan the EDC-15P engine control unit with a VAS, VAG or KTS -BOSCH diagnosis tool you will find this: Fault code: P1557-Turbo Boost pressure control exceeded
1. Engine stopped and ignition switch off. Check all pneumatic connections and hoses between turbocharger actuator = pressure unit for boost-pressure control, boost-pressure control solenoid valve, vacuum reservoir, EGR control solenoid valve, intake-manifold flap solenoid valve, EGR valve with throttle - part of intake manifold. Also the vacuum connection between tandem pump and brake booster. If you find something wrong replace parts. If not go to step 2.
2. Extract the hose of the turbocharger actuator = pressure unit for boost-pressure control part of turbocharger. Instead of the original hose you must place another 1 meter long hose with the same inside diameter, and then you check to inspire yourself the air from the other one extremity of this hose. The mechanical connecting rod of the turbocharger actuator must have a smooth and whole motion. If you can do that with your mouth, then you must replace the boost-pressure control solenoid valve. If you can not reach this with your mouth, then you go to step 3.
3. This is the most difficult work. The problem is that the soot particles deposits inside the turbocharger plugging the variable nozzle geometry mechanism = adjustable vanes of the turbine. If the turbocharger actuator is not able to adjust the turbine vanes the charge air pressure increase too much and ECU (engine control unit) go in "limp mode" = engine protection software. As a result the "limp home" mode engine still running until you turn the engine off (ignition switch off) and back on when the "limp mode" is deactivated, but the fault still remain in ECU memory!
4. You must be able to extract the turbo from the engine and then to disassemble the turbocharger, clean inside adjustable vanes mechanism and refit all.

Iv been told that there is a valve that sticks somewhere around the turbo on my A4 tdi could anyone tell me exactly where it is and how to get it out?

1993 mitsi lancer 4g93t cd5a, installing manual boost controller


I'm not too sure if those are setup like the Eclipse turbo engines, but those cars came stock with a BCS(boost control solenoid). That solenoid maintained the stock boost on those cars. In the eclipses, you would have to leave the electrical part of that solenoid connected, yet remove the vaccuum hoses to install a boost controller.
