3800. Where is the oil pressure sending unit located?

I'm not familiar with your vehicle. However, an oil pressure sender unit is usually located on the block, below the cylinder head.

it's more often than not a screw - in unit which may have a brass appearance and have 1 or more electrical wires coming from it.

Here is a link which will show you generic images of sender units:

They are -usually - just screw-in items. They are not difficult to change.

When i start my 2005 buick rainer the oil light stays on longer then usual. And yesterday after a 300 mile trip i noticed a skweeky sound under hood and opened and noticed that it was leaking oil somewhere...

Hello: Check the oil pressure sending unit for leaking. That could be the reason for the delay in the light going out and also the leakage. If oil has gotten on the serpentine belt replace it also. The sending unit will be near the oil filter assembly on the lower front of the engine.

You either have a bad sender, poor connection, or a bad guage. Replace the sender first.
