Hmmm.....Thing's to check..
1) check for loose connection's @ the dizzy, the coil, and alternater
2) fuel injecter's
3)Check for vacuum leak's around the inlet manifold/ throttle body
4) check air control valve.

SOURCE: car wont start .

You will not be able to hear the fuel pump on that model. First you have to determine if you get fuel and have spark. If it is a fuel problem, replace the DME relay first. Very common. They act up and fail without warning. Part is cheap and located in the fuse box. Next would be the fuel pump.
If it is spark related it may be the Flywheel Reference Sensors. There are two and the cost about $100 each.

Good Luck.

SOURCE: engine turns over but does not start 1st time have changed spark plugs/distributor cap/ht leads/rotary arm if i push leads or cap car seems 2 start but not straight away please help

First make sure you have the wires on the cap right. Remember the timing mark goes past the arrow twice for every firing of cylinder number one. The cap should not move at all, make sure it is fitting on the distributor correctly. Make sure it is identical to the old cap, even try the old cap again. I hope you have not moved the timing adjustment, you'll need the book to get it right.

SOURCE: i have a renalt megane classic t reg every now and

if your timing belt has sliped, your pistons would be touching your valves, which means cylinder head removal,.removal off spark plugs use a pressure check gauge to check each cylinder for a weak compressure by starting the engine untill the gauge stops moving ,,normal cylinder pressure should read above 175lb per pressure or more.

I have a Mitsubishi lancer 2000 and have taken the wires off the distributor in order to change the spark plug leads without concern of how to put them back on. Any ideas on the order

4 cylinder, firing order normally 1342. Take off distributer cap, set engine with number 1 cylinder on top of compression stroke. you may have to take out the number one plug, turn moter by hand and feel for compression with finger on hole. Look where distributer rotor is pointing and match with distributer cap. That will give you #1 lead position. Follow around cap in rotor direction and you will get the rest.
6 cylinder normally 123456. same story.
if you still have the old leads, they are sometimes marked and normally different lengths. if you lucky, and replace them, you can sometimes pick up which went where by the bends left in them over time. Then start again and mark them. I normally replace leads one at a time. Safer and easier. Or Photograph them with cell.

Changing ford five hundered power streering

Get a hand held suction gun and suction the fluid out of the reservoir and refill it, and then run the engine and turn the wheel left to right and right to left 2 times, shut down and suction the fluid out again, repeat this about 4 times this flushes most of the old fluid and gunk out of the system.

Truck won't start. it basically has new everything under the hood but still wont start. maybe a problem with the timing. what steps are taken in setting the timing or could there be other possible problems

All information is fine but there isent any like..
When you spin it over do you have a spark at the plugs
Have you got petrol going into carby and by putting your hand over the carby for 2 turn overs do you get petrol on your hand,
Are the inlet manifold gaskets new and on the correct way around/is the coil wired the correct way around/and is the distributor timed correct.
OK timing take out No1 plug Take out the centre lead of the coil ,now put your finger over the plug hole in No1 and get some one to spin over the engine just a little at a time untill you feel air pressure on your finger STOP now turn over the engine BY hand and bottom pulley till the timing marks line up and then when in line put plug back in and leads on..NOW go to the distributor and take off the cap.. and the rotor button should be in line with the plug lead you just put on No1 plug (not the coil)and the points should be just opened and points should be set to 12 thou
if all is 100% when you have finished then it will start and run and then you can turn the distributor slightly to left or right and then lock up the clamp'
OR USE A timimg light
Let me know how you get on . Ron

How do i change spark plugs on a ford escort sport

start from the left hand side of the engine as you are facing it, take one out at a time this way you will not mix up the HT leads ok.
Take the lead off number one plug and unscrew the old plug anticlockwise with a socket that fits the sparkplug, once you have done that put the new one in and tighten up clockwise and put the lead back on and push down so you hear a click but do not tighten up to tight or you weill damage the treads on the plug. Just enough so you feel the pressure on the racket. then do the same with all of them.

I hope this help's?

Service, abs, and trac off lights are on

Usually when the ABS light comes on the circuit is broken and my experience usually leads me to a broken wire on the 03 and older in the system.
90% of the time it is the wire to the left front wheel or the plug in that plugs into the magnet on the left front wheel.
Please check that first. If you find a broken wire repair it and your system will work again.

2002 Honda Accord. Engine does slow start and jerks

sounds like you have a problem with the spark the coil may be on its way out or there may be oil in the spark plug holls shorting out the spark.
your best bet is to pull the leads out 1 at a time and and look down and check for oil if there is oil there get a new rocker cover gasket.
if no oil refit plug leads loosely and start the car remove one lead at a time slowly and look at the spark cumming out the end off the lead is it blue? if so it is ok if it is yellow and dull you have a coil problem. also check that the spark is only comming out the end of the lead as it may be comming ou the side of the lead and shorting to earth,
you can do this by slowly moving the lead around the top of the sparkl plug holl and see were the spark is comming from

be carfull no to shock your self as it herts like hell

good luck

1996 v-6 misfires , i've changed the ignition coils what next

If it is missfireing it wasn't your starter coils for a start. A reason your car will missfire is the timing is out. If it starts and runs your timing maybe a 1/2 a degree out and needs adjusting. It may also be one or more of your ignition leads (from spark plug to coils). Easy way to tell is with a timing light just plug leads in one at a time and start your car if timing lamp doesnot light or lights only as missfires change your leads, check your timing also while you are plugged into number 1 spark plug put timing light onto crank shaft pully should light up as a white dot goes past (bottom pully wheel). If you don't have access to timing light you can manually do it just take number one spark plug out with a small but longish screwdriver(careful not to dint or scratch piston head) crank motor by hand useing bottom pully till number one pot is to the top and look at bottom pully if white dot not at top crank motor till pot comes up second time and check pully wheel again. If still dot not on top your timing is out and you need to adjust it. If you find it to be your timing leave me message and tell me if fuel injected or carbureted and if you have magneto or distributer and I will try to help you
