If you have a warning light on the dashboard - you need to have somebody read the error codes.

The hand-held (OBD11) scanner used for reading error codes can also reset any 'check engine'/warning light

Check Engine or
Malfunction indicator light (MIL)
The Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light or an icon resembling the engine is called, in technical terms, the Malfunction Indicator Light or MIL. The MIL light comes on when your vehicle's computer detects a fault that can affect your vehicle's fuel economy and emissions. There is no button to reset the Check Engine light, but if the fault that caused it doesn't happen again, the light will turn off by itself. If the MIL light stays on, have the problem checked out, because in some cases, the problem could get worse if not repaired in time. Think of the Check Engine light as an early warning sign. To check why your MIL light came on, your dealer or mechanic will have to diagnose your car with a special scan tool.

How to reset a new abs module on 05 dodge ram 25oo

There is nothing on any vehicle other than an oil
change warning lamp & couple other gadgets that
get reset & they don't have to be,people just don't like
the dash light on
I assume you got a dash light
I would think you have checked for codes,
since you mentioned abs
What do the code charts tell you?
Should you be diagnosing that system
for failure,or was they some out of range
thing that caused the light to blink, stay on,codes
or no codes. eg: One time event
You will have stored events, if you look at enhanced
data on a professional scan tool
Can't reset things to make your light go away
If you clear ANY MIL Lamp you remove the data
your or a shop will need to work on the issues
It may work for you & never come back, but I
would want to know what happened ,why & what to do about it
Most repairs, not all, will turn off the MIL Lamp once the computer
runs checks on start up or whatever the monitor strategy is
I road test 20 miles min before clearing any data from memory,
dash light or not,it is in there
Bad Wheel Speed Sensors are most of the abs & trac control
lamp issues.
If you do one wheel hub do both,if that is the problem
Again,if a shop has made a repair, they should have cleared
NOT RESET the MIL lamp & all data

Reset check engine light

On OBDII vehicles there's 2 ways to reset the MIL. A scan tool can clear the codes, but will also clear all of your monitors. If you have repaired the code, the computer will automatically turn the MIL off after 3 consecutive drive cycles the code monitor has passed. It could take a while as not all monitors are run every drive cycle. This is the best way to confirm a repair in my opinion.

How do you turn off the check engine light

The check engine light is designed to function only when there is a engine fault. To turn this light off you will need to visit your auto parts store. Orielly's and Autozone both carry code scanners that you can barrow in the parking lot. And they may even come out and check the codes for you. Once the codes have been retrieved you have the option to reset the check engine light to turn it off. However, if the engine has a hard code or a faulty sensor the light may come back on immediately after you start the car.
I would suggest having the codes read and the MIL reset and try to determine the issue causing the MIL to come on.

Got 2008 3500 dodge, was working on trailer lightsand was checking fuses and pulled wrong fuse and check engine light come on. how do i get it off?

The only way to turn off the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) or "check engine Light", is to either use a scanner to reset the MIL, or you can dis-connect the battery for three minutes, but if you do dis-connect the battery you will have to re-set the radio and anything else that has a KAM (Keep Alive Memory).

How can I clear the misfire on #4 cylinder code?

If you have not repaired the #4 mis-fire problem then re-setting or clearing the code will only last until the mis-fire is detected again (maybe only minutes or even seconds depending how bad the mis-fire is), and then the MIL (malfunction indicator light) will be right back on. Try changing the #4 spark plug and ignition wire first, if this does not solve the problem then there might be something more seriously wrong with your engine.

If you do not have a scanner to reset the MIL, then you can reset the MIL by dis-connecting the battery for three minutes and then re-connect the battery, and all of the data trouble codes should be cleared.

Engine maintainance light on

do you mean the service light or the mil (engine management light? ) you can get a obd2 code reader if its the mil light but be sure to get one that is for VAG codes, if its a vw or one the reads eobd and *** codes for lexus (ebay from £23 )
if its a service light you need not worry too much but you can also get the service reset tool on line

Maintenance light stays on

First I'd say try taking the battery cable off the negative terminal to reset the computer.
Then what I would do is pull the codes from the computer. Autozone will read your codes for free! If the Check Engine Light (MIL) came on after you have already reset the ECU, the computer stored a code. Even if the MIL goes out, the code will remain stored in the computer.
It might be something as simple as an oxygen sensor, but the best way to do things is find out the code, then to try to clear it, if the problem persists then the CEL (check engine light) or maintenance light will simply come back on.
