Should be a small allen head set screw holding the button to the mirror assembly. Loosen and remove, re-assemble after the glue dries.

Replace a rear view mirror

If it just dropped off the windshield you can go to the local autoparts and buy a package of rear view mirror adhesive. There's a little mounting piece that is held in the mirror base with a set screw - take that out when you glue. Once it's set, you should be able to re-mount. There are instructions on the package. Good luck!

Get a mirror mounting kit a an auto parts store. Remove the mounting plate from the mirror. It takes a small Torx wrench or a hex wrench might work. Follow the instructions on the kit. Be sure to take note of the direction of the mounting plate as it will be difficult to remove it if it is upside down

Trying to re-mount the rear view mirror on a 97 Gmc Jimmy.

Try looking underneath the arm that runs from the mounting bracket to the mirror itself. You would be looking for a small allen or torx slotted screw. It will probably be metric if its an allen screw. I don't have anything that new so there is a possibility that it is covered with a piece of plastic molding which you should be able to pop off with a little patience and fiddling. Hope this helps.
