SOURCE: Interior trim panel removal instruction

Normal 0 . Disconnect your negative battery cable. Locate and remove the screws that hold your interior door handles in place (they may be hidden by snap in, or snap on clips). Remove the interior door handles, then disconnect the wire clips to the switches. Your panel is held in place by snap in clips; use a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to get as close to, or directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel). Once the clips are pulled, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door.
Install in reverse.

If you don't have power windows you will have to remove the manual window crank. It is held in place by a clip on the back side of the base. To remove the clip, you will need a small hook (kind of like a knitting needle). Put the hook in behind the base, and grab the clip and pull it off. To replace it, slide the clip back on the window crank, and snap it back on the door.

SOURCE: How do I remove the headlight assembly

if you have the regular headlights(not the HID) there is a TSB for that at the dealer and they will fix it for free as long as you are under the 36000 miles,,anyhow to get the headlight out you need to remove the front bumper cover,,pop the hood, remove all the pushpin that hold the plastic panel on near the front area then remove the plastic cover,,,,,then there are some phillips head screws along the front of the top of the bumper cover take these out,,,,now remove both front wheels,,remove the bolts that hold the inner fender liners inplace there are some in front and under the lower bumper cover take these out too,,,,then under the front bumper cover at about the middle there will be 2 bolts i think 10mm remove theses to,,,,now where the side of the bumper cover meets the fender inside there are 3 bolts on each side remove these i think they are 7 or 8mm and then pull the bumper cover off,,,if you have fog lights disconnect the plugs,,then you will see all the bolts holding the headlight in take them out and then it comes out,,,,i know its alot of work just for a headlight ,,,,

SOURCE: How do you replace the headlight bulb on a Toyota Corolla 2003

You can and it is not difficult, there are two bolts holding the top of the headlight to the body just over the radiator and a couple of screws holding the indicato in place, but you can access the back of the light fitting without doing so . It is a bit of a squeeze on the battery side.

How to change 2003 Ford escape headlight switch dimmer

Most of these require replacement of the stalk. There is a video on Utube for disassembling the turn signal portion of this assembly. If your 4 way emergency flasher is on the steering column, pushing it in and out of Emergency flash may realign the points. Assuming the headlight portion is why you want to do this, it has its own points.

Problem with NOT removing switch is permanently damaging vehicle interior with sprays, flying parts and mess in general. The process is removing the hidden fasteners, having security tips for fastener heads, and unplugging wiring harness without breaking latches.

Where is the diagnostic port located on my 2001 passat 5 sp. auto V6?

On the old Volkswagen Passat B5 (MY 1997-2001) the Data Link Connector (DLC) or diagnostic port is placed on the right side of the parking brake lever, under a small rectangle rubber cover. See pictures below:

2003 VW Passat wagon, trunk alarm keeps indicating the luggage compartment is open and alarm goes off. Many dealer attempts to fix have failed. Is there a specific fuse for the trunk latch/alarm?

Hi

You have to replace the latch of your trunk. The contact is in the latch and most of the time you have to change the wire and the connector because they are oxided and make a resistance.

If I remember well you cannot remove any fuse to solve your problem because the fuse will affect some interior lamps and door lock system.

I had the same problem on a VW Golf

Where is the air filter in the 2003 VW passat

The air filter on passat is hiding under the plastic behind the passenger's side headlight. You need to take off the flat plastic piece first. There's a heat shield that needs to be removed (phillips screws). This will expose clips holding the upper and lower halves of the air filter housing.

You unclip and pull the upper half away from the bottom. This will expose the air filter element. Don't forget, you have a pollen air filter for the interior air too. It's under the cowl, under the passenger's wiper blade area. There are several T20 torx fasteners holding the plastic in place. The pollen filter's under there.

How do I replace the front right turn signal on a 1999 VW Passat?

VW passat for model year 2001.5 – 2003, except HIDs). These were done on a 2001.5 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T. seem to be too wide for the wiring connector. Avoid touching the glass of the halogen bulb with bare hands. For easy access to the headlight’s bulbs, the cover shown above needs to be pulled out. As a reference, the arrows show what holds each other together. This will be helpful when placing this cover back. WARNING: Avoid touching the glass of the halogen bulb with bare hands. Use alcohol to clean off any contaminants. Read this book for VW service and repair manual complement. http://www.ebooksquad.com/2007/10/10/replacing-headlight-bulbs-for-the-vw-passat.html
