I have a TBI on my Chevy and when I turn the key on it keeps running the fuel pump after the 2 seconds like to know what to look for and where to find it

TBI on a Chevy 5.7 liter fuel pump don't shut off after key turned onto on what would cause it my injectors keep pumping fuel with key just the on position

Do you mean the pump keeps running after you turn key OFF? You said ON twice, but if the key is in the ON position, engine not started, the pump is supposed to run until start/run pressure is achived on the back side of the two injectors in a Chevy TBI (89-97). If it keeps running, the fuel pressure sensor is bad or has bad wires (rats love them).
If the pump keeps running after you turn the key OFF and floods the engine, then you might have a bad ignition switch, a bad PCM, or a wiring problem. None of those is cheap to repair or fast to diagnose. Good luck.

Didnt specify year model or engine --generic answer --if the tbi is flooding ---check the fuel pressure regulator --and the tbi itself

    can be ecm gone bad rare usual bad connection or connection problem --pressure regulator damaged --or need a tbi rebuild

What does not shut off?
And what are you referring to when you say "the 2 second or 3 second turn on.

Please clarify your issue and include some more information on your K10 model and engine.

I would check the fuel pump relay first. You should have some fuel pressure in the lines when you turn the key on. The relay is powered for 3 seconds to boost pressure until the engine starts.
The relay may not be working or the check valve in the pump may be letting fuel back into the tank which would cause the pressure to drop to zero when the engine is off. You should have at least 15psi with a TBI system and 35psi with MFI.

I have a 1987 chevy silverado the fuel pump just stopped working yesterday but I finally got it to work again. Now the problem is that when I turn the key to the on position in my truck instead of the fuel...

yes, it could be a relay... you could also have a leak. Is the pump in the tank or outside the tank? if inside,. you may want to recheck your work..

Wont idle or start without priming tbi

first check fuel pressure with a mechanical fuel gauge that attaches to fuel line schrader valve. around T.B.I. if no pressure with key on check fuel pump relay for correct operation, and also the oil pressure switch has the fuel circuit to it so possible oil pressure switch also. fuel pump has a check valve to keep fuel from going back to tank, so when u turn key on fuel pressure should go up within 1-2 seconds on gauge. if fuel pressure goes down quickly, possible bad fuel check valve, change fuel pump and fuel pump check valve (located right above fuel pump inside tank)

I have a '90 Chevy P/U, ID#2GCEC19K4L1102171. A cable (2 wire Or & Bk) with a small weather booted plug is routed over top of fire wall from battery bus that is between the fuel pump fuse & fuel...

What you need to do is use a test light and while someone is turning the key to start the vehicle check for power to the fuel pump.If there is power there then the fuel pump is probably not putting out enough pressure.You will need to replace it.As far as the plug I am not sure where it plugs into.Does it look like it was ever hooked up before?Do you hear the pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to start?You should have power at the terminal E on the fuel pump relay.It goes to the fuel module then the pump if you have a 5.7 motor only.If no power to pump then you need to find the open circuit other wise if you have power then you will need to replace the pump.Hope this helps and let me know if you need any more help.Good luck.

undo the fuel line where it joins the fuel rail to your injectors.. it is under extreme pressure so be careful.. get someone to crank car for a second or two and if fuel sprays out then its not a fuel problem..

My new fuel pump is not working when key is turned on. i get no fuel to the TBI. is this the TBI relay?or the fuel pump relay swith?

The fuel pump should run a couple seconds when you turn the key on. The relay is on the firewall. There is also a fuel pump fuse (20 amp), on the firewall, make sure its good. The wire that comes out of the relay to the pump is either TAN/WHITE or PINK/BLACK. At the relay the ORANGE wire should be HOT , 12V at all times.

90 chevy 350 with TBI starts but wont stay running changed fuel filter and fuel regulator dont know what next

I have a 90 chevy k1500 350 tbi with same problem! I have traced problem to... after turning on key fuel pump kicks on when u crank it over injectors shoot gas and truck starts! After few seconds injectors stop spraying and truck dies! This can happen many times over and over! Eventually sometimes truck stays running and all is great! I changed ignition module, oil pressure sending unit (which i was told controls gas after vehicle is running) fuel filter, computer, fuel pump relay, I am at a loss now! Hope this helps and hope someone can help me!

Help w 1994 chevrolet truck

This injector set-up needs a specific fuel pressure supplied to the fuel rail to even start, much less run properly. The fuel pump is immersed in fuel inside the gas tank to keep it cool and not burn up. Running the fuel level low causes more heat in the pump and interuptions in proper fuel pressure. AC/Delco pumps have proven to be a reliable fix, the aftermarket pumps only last for a month or two sometimes. Check fuel pressure under the hood and power and ground to fuel pump at electrical harness at top of gas tank. This truck needs a fuel pump.
