I'm smelling fuel coming out the resivor bottle what caused this

Blown head gasket pushing some of the charge into the water jacket which finds it's way through your cooling system to finish in the expansion tank (your reservoir bottle).
Soon that is going to be a BIG problem

I am assuming that it smells like sulfur or rotten eggs. This is a bad tank of gas. Put a bottle of octane booster in the fuel tank and don't buy cheap gas again.

Car won't start. getting spark, fuel. car sat for three years. cranks and will only start if gas in air filter but soon runs out of fumes and stops

Put some fresh gas in tank. Use starting fluid to aid starting.

Use a bottle of yellow HEET dry gas to remove any moisture problem in the fuel.

Clean / replace air filter.

Top off ATF to MAX level.

I gotta 1997 toyota avalon its running rough i ran a scanner it threw two codes po441 an po402. i need help figuring out wat these codes are

Hi there osborne_shay,

Those codes refer to a problem with the drive train in your Avalon. Here is what the codes mean.

PO441-Evaporated Emission Control System / Incorrect Purge Flow
PO402-Excessive gas flow through the EGR valve

The cause for these issues are either that the components are faulty or they just need to be cleaned.

When you try to fill up with gas the pump will shut off

what part of the country are you in?
you could have two things happening....
IN areas like California teh pump handle has a black cover over the nozzle.. this traps escaping fuel fumes while you fill your tank.. if you do not have enough pressure it will stop the pump..
If this is not the case.. it could be simply the design of your filler neck in the car... and you get a bottle neck that causes the nozzle to think the car is full.. simply do not put the nozzle fully in the car.. try backing it our a bit so that you do not create a bottle neck... kinda like pouring out soda from a bottle.. tilt it too much and it slows down the flow.

What is EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL INCORRECT PURGE FLOW in Mitsubishi Mirage? and how do I solve the problem?

fumes from evaporating gas in your tank are captured and absorbed by a canister rather than being vented to atmosphere as they used to be ... when you start the car it purges the fumes from the canister and directs them into the intake manafold where they are burned with normal gas ... often over filling the tank can cause gas to flow into the canister instead of just fumes .. this may, in time, fix itself if you avoid overfilling the tank unless there is a failure somewhere in the evaporative emission control system ..(vacuum hose, solonoid, gas cap and such) .. a bad, loose or leaking gas cap can cause a problem by allowing air to leak into the canister ..

I'm leaking coolant, What will the problem be? Can I fix it my self?

see for crack's or leak in any of the water or coolant circulating line connected to the engine, radiator, & coolant resivor bottle. see for those part's this are rubber tube connected from engine to the water or coolant liquid cooling system. see for that if your coolant resivor is not crack or broken that can too also cause the problem. see for raditor weather it is ok or not & lastly finally see for water pump system in engine that can also cause the problem if still doubtful just look for your nearest VW, SKODA, AUDI ..etc. dealer or authorised service centre for the help & so till then my friend have happy motoring & see you soon....!

no theres not a valve for smells, it usually means that when your tank is empty, it smells bad because most likely your running on water and gas, which causes a bad smell, a good way to fix it, is to pour a bottle of a subtence called HEAT, thats what it says on the bottle, then just pour all of it in your gas tank and what it does is make all the water that may be in your gas tank dissapear.. hope this helps...and if it doesn't that usually means that you should replace your fuel fillter.
