Temporarily replace the blown fuse with a flashing light. Then use an inductive sensor or a needle probe to find out where the flashing pulse stops. That will be the short. But look for where the wires go through holes that could rub through the insulation, or panels that could pinch, like a fender that has been dented.

How do I get the left turn signal light to go off?

your turn signal switch could be bad or the turn signal wire leading to that bulb has a short. you have to trace the wire from bulb to switch testing with a test light or multi meter

Help: 1994 Toyota land Cruiser: left turn signal works but when I turn the right turn signal on it blows the 7.5 amp fuse disabling the turn signals.

Hi Steven
Do the simple stuff first. Check the obvious points at which the circuit may get shorted. Light Bulbs and sockets. Wires in the boot or rear lamp area. Down the steering column. Follow harness to front then rear. Age of vehicle and how it's used may provide clues. Trailer Connector Wires & Connections to harness.
(Where could they Link Together)
If that fails
You need to isolate each circuit that is blowing a fuse and trace the fault to a location. Probably when you find the fault (ground short or wires shorted together) it will become obvious that the two separate circuits are linked.
So... start with the right turn signal

Finding Shorts It's a pain.... but.... here's the process!
Remove the Fuses that keep blowing.
Make up a long lead from the battery positive terminal.
Say 4 meters.
Add a cheap 5A or 10A circuit breaker in the lead wire.
Make a probe tip on the end of wire. (needle, pin. nail)
This saves you going through many fuses.
The circuit breaker simply resets when it cools.
The best way to locate the short is to Note the wire colour code (or use iPhone to take photo).
Supply power via the made up jumper & circuit breaker to the suspect circuit wire to prove that it blows the circuit breaker.
Then.... split the circuit in two...
Half way down the vehicle (say front door step) Lift the plastic trim off and find those colour coded wires.
Prove these are the wires by pushing sharp probe through the insulation. Circuit breaker blows....
Cut the wires. Try Rear wires vs Front wires and Determine if the short is in the Front section or the Rear section.
Then use the same process over again on the section which is faulty (shorting) Divide in two. until you narrow the short location down.
Keep in mind that the short could suddenly disapear if you get close & simply move the section with the bare (shorted) wire which touches the chassis or another wire.
Slip some heat shrink tubing over these cut wires and resolder them later. This is better than crimp terminals which may cause problems later.
Good Luck

Just recently my rear right turn signal bulb just lit up solid and will not turn off. Even when i have turned the car off and locked it up, that one bulb will stay lit. I took the bulb out so i would not...

Two possibilities , short to ground on the black with yellow trace wire or the rear electronic module is shorted to inside to ground . The easiest way to find the problem , find the rear electronic module an disconnect connector C420 e ,if the light goes off the problem is with the module , if not wire is shorted to ground. Does this sound complicated ? It's not really . The (REM) this module is located in the trunk. Remove the carpet lining on the passenger side of the trunk, the module is bolted inside the quarter panel. You will need to look at a wiring diagram to double check the wiring (so you know which connector to remove) Here is a web site for free wiring diagrams
Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size. Under system click on lighting , under subsystem click on turn signal lamps .Then click the search button ,then the blue link . Scroll down to the fourth diagram . At the bottom of the diagram you will see the rear electronic module .On the top ,right side is the grounding wire for the right rear turning signal ,connector C-420 ,C stands for connector . The wire is in pin #4 of that connector . Find that connector an disconnect . Does the light stay on or go off . Let us know what happens .

Left turn signal and left Hazard light blow fuse

Probably a bad bulb, or a short in the wiring. Try a new bulb, if that does not work, trace the wiring looking for any chafing against metal.

My break lights do not work at all. 2000 Chevy Lumina- We dont know where to begin to trace the wires we tries tracing them from the rear and couldnt find the right wire. The center light in the window does...

i am CONFUSED? you say they dont work, then you say "when you press down on the brake that the switch for the lights causes them to go off instead of turning them on when messing around with it but couldnt figure this out"........ if NO brake lights work, then check fuse 23. . if the fuse is GOOD then check wires at the brake switch. Orange should have 12V, when brake pedal is pressed then the WHITE should have 12V and lights should be on. the center rmounted stop light (BACK WINDOW) has 2 bulbs, make sure they are good. The center light is wired differently. If the center light works but brake lights do not, the turn signal switch could be bad. I assume THE TURN SIGNALS are OK? IF the turn signals are working OK, the wiring between the turn signal switch and the brake lights is GOOD

I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe and the hazards come on when I use my left turn signal occasionally. The right turn signal works fine.

i am not sure if you mean your hazard lights actually come on, or if all 4 indicators come on at the same time.
hazards coming on would suggest a fault in the indicator switch, or a short in the wiring.

all 4 indicators coming on, would suggest a bad earth connection on the rear left side of the vehicle. this is far more likely, and can be cured by tracing the earth wire to teh body of the car, and check for loose, damaged wires, or corrosion at the earth point on the body.

easy way to tell, is to switch on the tail lights at the same time. if these get brighter and dimmer in time with the indicators, it is almost certainly an earth fault.

hope this helps
