As long as it isnt messed up at or behind the suspension it shouldnt affect anything . a body shop can put it on a frame machine and pull it back within specs.

How to tighten cab mounts

Bolts located on underside of the truck. I believe that 6 bolts hold the cab on to the frame if its a crew cab. Four bolts can be seen from laying under the truck. You can see the rubber mounts that attach it the the cab from the frame. The other 2 in the back are on the floor board by rear seat or back panel. they connect to the frame also. Make sure the cab is aligned with the bed. It can be shifted. Make sure the bolts are straight and not leaning forward or backwards. Inspect the rubber cab mounts to make sure they are good. You will understand when you start investigating the mounting area.

Tip

Rack and Pinion steering gear RnR 1995 - 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo and Impala (FWD)

To start: Make sure the steering shaft and or wheel is not turned during this repair =|= You can damage the air bag system coil. Put the key in and lock the wheel or use a seat-belt and tie off the wheel so it will not turn.  Take the battery loose. check your radio for any codes to reset it after finished or turn off the lockout before you disconnect the battery. If you have a 3.4 DOHC engine remove the air cleaner and duct work.  You will have to jack up the front of the car and make it secure with good supports and locking the rear wheels, You will be under the car so - be safe, be sure, be safe. You have to remove the front tire/wheels and your jack stands have to be behind the front sub-frame, you can not use the sub-frame for support during this job. Set the wheel straight ahead. Pull back the boot at the bottom of the steering column shaft, mark the coupler and steering input shaft.  If you have the 3.4L DOHC remove the right side engine splash shield, and the exhaust pipe / catalytic / converter  assembly .  Separate the tie-rods ends from the steering arms, count how many turns it takes to remove them. then you can some what preserve your front-end alignment. Support the rear of the sub-frame with a jack giving room to access the rear most part of the sub-frame. Remove the rear sub-frame bolts, loosen the front bolts Do Not Remove them!!! lower the rear approx 5 inches DO NOT LOWER TO MUCH YOU CAN DAMAGE SOME ENGINE COMPONENTS.  Remove the heat shield form the steering gear. Take any pipe or hoses loose form support clips on the body. You will need a drain pan to catch any fluid that drains out. Using a flare nut wrench take loose the pressure and return lines from the gear. Plug the lines to stop fluid from draining out of the lines. Remove the gear retaining nuts and bolts. Pull the gear out of the supports move it forward and detach the steering coupler from the steering shaft. Support the gear and it comes out the left side wheel opening.  To reinstall pass the new gear through the left wheel opening and place it in position in the mounts reinstall the shaft coupler and the bolts/nuts in the supports. reattach the lines, the heat shield, and if you can find them you should use new sub-frame bolts, run the rear in first and then the front, one at the time and torque the bolts to 133 ft-lbsReconnect the tie rods to the steering arms. Reinstall the exhaust system now. Check the wheel center using the marks made on the shaft, be sure the coupler is seated before you tighten the pinch bolt. Reinstall the front wheels, lower the car off the stands. Reconnect the battery. Fill the power steering pump to the recommended level start up the car and ck for leaks, have the alignment checked per a tire / alignment shop.

Seat belt stuck

The mechanism has jammed so find the mount at the bottom near the lower sill, unbolt it from the vehicle frame and shake it until it releases. If this happens, reinstall it. If it will not come un-jammed, it will need to be replaced

2000 GMC Sonoma 4x4 Has a constant loud Chirp that happens every few seconds whether idling or driving. I can not seem to locate where it is coming from but sounds like right under me in the drivers seat....

try this.. with the vehicle off..open the drivers door with the window down..sit in the seat and bounce up and down in the seat..listen for your squeak/chirp..I am thinking its either the seat mounts or the body mounts under the cab..you can spray wd 40 on the rubber cab mount bushings if you dont hear the sqeak when you bounce on the seat.. get out and grab the door by the far end of the window frame and shake the cab upand down.. you can use petroleum jelly on the seat rails under the seat for a lubricant..dont use regular grease because if you do..and get in with nice clothes on(and catch the bottom of your jacket under the side of the seat)..eeewww...if there is no sqeak, try starting..if you hear it now..its either mounts or a loose belt..

2002 pontiac grand am rack and pinion replacement how to

Removing the rack and pinion assembly from a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am Se To get the old rack and pinion off of the car for replacement involves lowering the sub-frame, removing the stabilizer bar, and pulling the rack out from the driver side of the vehicle.
  • Start by lifting or jacking up the car and removing the front wheels. Once the car is safely supported, disconnect both tie rods from the steering knuckles.
  • The rear motor mount sits on top of the cross-member part of the sub-frame, and must be disconnected to allow the sub-frame to drop a few inches. Remove the three bolts attaching it to the center of the sub-frame - one in the back and two in the front near the back of the transmission.
  • Loosen the two bolts holding the front of the sub-frame. Place a scissor jack or bottle jack under the rear of the sub-frame where the bolt for the motor mount was. Remove the two smaller bolts from each side of the rear of the sub-frame (total 4 bolts) and then loosen the two remaining larger bolts holding the rear of the sub-frame (these bolts go through the rear control arm bushings and are very long) until the bolts are only going through the control arm bushing, and not into the chassis. You do not need to remove these completely.
  • Remove the stabilizer links from both sides.
  • Next you must disconnect the steering linkage. This is done easily by lifting up the rubber boot to expose the small bolt holding the linkage. Remove the bolt and pry the linkage upward using a pry tool or screw driver.
  • Near the passenger side of the crossmember, remove the bolt holding the power steering line bracket to the chassis. You may now begin to lower the sub-frame using the jack. The front bolts should have lowered the sub-frame about a half-inch or so, allowing you to lower the back of the sub-frame 3 or 4 inches.
  • With the sub-frame lowered, you can now access the bolts holding the stabilizer bar in place. The right side has a nut screwed onto the top of it holding the power steering lines, remove this first, then remove both bolts. Pry or pull the stabilizer brackets up and out. Remove the stabilizer bar.
  • Now you can get to both of the bolts holding the rack in place. Remove both of these, then begin to slide the rack toward the driver side wheel well until there is no more slack in the power steering lines. At this point you should be able to get to the nuts securing the lines on the rack. Loosen both nuts and be ready with something to cap the ends with. I used part of a plastic bag and a wire to tie it. You can now pull the rack out through the driver side.
  • Be sure to replace the rubber o-rings on the ends of the lines when putting the new rack in. Replace everything in the reverse order. Put your tie rods on the new rack, making sure to count the turns or make a mark or measure to be sure your tie rods end up close to the same length as before.
  • Bleed the power steering system.

Important: Get an alignment! Not only is it dangerous to drive with your steering out of align but it will also grate the tread off your tires in a matter of weeks or even days.
