My Lexus safety and emission test said Not-Ready. I was told to drive it. but it shuts off? what do I do?

You need to find out why it shuts off. Immediately as it fails test for spark at plugs. OK? next use fuel pressure gauge to see if pressure drops just before it dies. No spark means bad coil/ignition module, crank/cam sensor. Bad fuel pressure = bad pump, filter, relay, regulator.

When changing the coolant in 2003 Mazda 6 should coolant be added to the radiator?

Low fuel pressure, weak fuel pump, dirty spark plugs are mostly the cause of this problems. In some cases clogged fuel filter is the problem. The fuel stops going to engine and car shuts off. So first the fuel pressure needs to be checked,if its tested ok, then inspect spark plugs are the plugs dirty, if yes, then clean the plugs. But if all this tested ok, then it can be computer related problem.Any of the sensor is stopped working and due to this flow of fuel is getting low and then stop, causing this problem. ---- Click this link below for more troubleshooting:---

I have a 1990 mitsubishi might max it wont run smooth unless you keep your foot on the gas and keep the rpms up a little bit and it wont drive cause it stalls everytime you try to move it. ive replaced the...

You've already eliminated the spark plug & wireset, distributor cap & rotor.
Sounds like your car needs a tune-up, specifically, the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, and/of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.

Components checked/replaced during a tune-up are:
air filter
motor oil
motor oil filter
breather filter
fuel filter(s)
fuel strainer
PCV valve
EGR valve
spark plugs
spark plug wires
ECM or distributor cap & rotor
cabin air filter
transmission oil filter
transmission oil
engine coolant
check all vacuum hoses and lines

Troubleshooting the no-start condition - from the 1990 Mitsu Mighty Max Repair Manual:

Priority Action Part Type -- Cause
1 Inspect Battery -- Battery Discharged or Faulty.
2 Inspect Battery Cable -- Corroded, Broken, Shorted or Poorly Connected Battery Cable.
3 Inspect Distributor Cap -- Distributor Cap Cracked or Burned.

5 Inspect Ignition Coil -- Faulty Ignition Coil.
6 Inspect Wireset -- Worn, Damaged or Faulty Spark Plug Wire(s).
7 Inspect Spark Plug -- Incorrectly Gapped or Fouled Spark Plug(s).
8 Inspect Starter -- Starter Motor Faulty.

10 Inspect Solenoid Switch -- Faulty Starter Solenoid Switch.

My car shuts off and stalls sometimes when i am

Could be fuel filter, fuel pump, air filter, coil, spark plugs, plugged catalitic converter, injectors or a host of other things. Start with the simple things like air filter, see if its dirty, then fuel filter especially if it has not been changed for many miles. Check battery connections, ground wires from body to motor and ground wire from battery to motor and body

you may have a faulty crank position sensor shutting the spark off. this will throw a code into the computer though my suggestion would be to have the ecm read for codes.

95 dodge neon shuts off while driving

After it kills, pull a plug wire and check for spark. If it has spark, check for fuel. I can't remeber where the service port is on the F.I of a Neon but it'll look like a tire air valve cap but a little larger. It''l be on the fuel rail or line somewhere under the hood.

Take the cap off and depress the valve. If fuel doesn't squirt out (not drip), you're losing pressure. Neons were bad about fuel pumps so it MIGHT be this. They run a little over $200 for just the pump. I had a retail unit that kept doing this due to fuel deposits from Ethanol. It kept clogging the "filter" sock in the tank. After it set a while the stuff would sink back to the bottom and the car would start back up.
