Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I found a lime green golfball size (egg case?) in my yard under a red oak tree. It looks like it was attached to a twig. I also found a smaller one. Very lightweight. What is it?

A photo and an approx location would be a great help. Most likely insect egg case from what you have said but need a lot more info. If you are in North America, have a look at project Noah. If you are in Australia, have a look at I am sure other countries have similar sites.

Under the hood, passengers side, is a male plug with a red and black wire, it has a small plastic strap attached with a hole for a screw in it. What does this hook up to.Thanks for help.

I am going to assume everything on your Jeep works and your check engine light is not on.
Its possible the harness is for something on the 4 cyl engine.
Or it could be for an accessory not used on your model.
It would be tough to find out not knowing what the circuit is for since the wiring diagrams are geared to specific circuits.
Most red wires are power and black wires are almost always ground. There is a red-black that powers the ASD relay in the fuse box.
You might look at other Jeeps in a salvage yard.

My passenger side mirror was damaged by a tree falling on it. (just missed my car thankfully) the mirror is intact but the casing is cracked. Do I have to replace the whole casing with mirror?

The mirror will pull out. There are two power control arms behind the mirror and in the center is sort of a ball and joint connection. Pull firmly and the mirror will come off. However you can buy a mirror assembly from a salvage yard and have the mirror already attached. I recently replaced one on my Excursion. I have a casing with no mirror.
